Description:

As a Systems Engineer, you will support global project teams in designing system architecture, managing requirements, and performing component and system testing. Working in a cross-functional team, you’ll help develop integrated mechatronic systems for automotive applications, combining hydraulic systems with motors, controllers, and software. You will also contribute to process improvements and testing through bench and vehicle integration.

Your Responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop mechatronic systems according to the V-Model in compliance with automotive standards

  • Understand system requirements on a multi-disciplinary level, define sub-systems and interfaces

  • Coordinate with global expert teams

  • Design and develop systems and system architectures based on customer requirements and for internal development activities

  • Support in defining the testing strategy and scope and support testing and validation on system and integration level

  • Work closely with customer and inter-company development team

Our requirements:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related fields

  • Relevant experience of ideally 2-3 years in a similar position

  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and ability to create, interpret schematics and diagrams

  • Able to navigate in CAD systems and able to understand FEA and CFD results

  • Practical experience in mechanical and hydraulic systems

  • Solid experience in common development tools (e.g. Matlab, Simulink)

  • Familiarity with tools which manage requirements (e.g. Doors, Helix) is a plus

  • Solid understanding of physical principles

  • Excellent team player with a proactive, hands-on attitude, strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in English (both spoken and written), while proficiency in German is highly preferred

PURPOSE & SCOPE

As a systems engineering student, you will work closely with experienced systems engineers, contributing to project execution while developing your technical and organizational skills. System design, system architecture, requirement handling, system and component testing and customer contact are part of the daily business, leading to the creation of highly integrated mechatronic systems. All this takes place in a globally aligned environment. You will be part of a cross-functional team, supporting in the integration of hydraulic systems for the automotive industry by combining oil-pumps with brushless motors, controllers, software, and additional components depending on the target application. Contribute to the growth of the business by assisting in the continuous improvement effort of processes, design, analysis and testing through bench and vehicle integration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Contribute to the development of mechatronic systems in accordance with the V-Model and automotive industry standards

System Integration

  • Collaborate with internal teams to integrate hydraulics, electronics and software
  • Support to ensure seamless integration of sub-systems
  • Enhance test setups/benches:
    • Strengthen automation
    • Develophydraulic/mechanic/electronicimprovements

Testing and Validation:

  • Support on system, sub-system and integration level:
    • Coordinate and execute test strategies on different hydraulic and non-hydraulic test benches
    • Report, document and present results to the engineering team

Education and/or Experience

  • Master’s student in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related discipline
  • Practical experience in mechanical and hydraulic systems is a plus
  • Competent in coding with e.g. MATLAB, Phyton, CAPL, C/C++ is a plus
  • Ability to create, interpret schematics and diagrams

Qualifications

You will be responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing validation activities for differential and gearbox systems in e-drive applications.   • Define and execute test plans for design validation (DV) and production validation (PV)

  • Program, monitor, and analyze endurance, strength, and NVH tests on test benches

  • Analyze test data and create structured reports with clear conclusions and recommendations

  • Contribute to the creation of validation documentation (DVP&R, test specs, test reports)

  • Interface with suppliers, customers, and international teams on testing and release topics
