Due to a continuous period of growth within a major project, we have a requirement for an Assistant Commercial Manager to be based in our Dublin office and client site. This opportunity would suit someone from a commercial background ideally within a high value road or infrastructure setting. You will provide support to the Commercial Manager in carrying out activities across the scheme to ensure the role as Client Partner is delivered at a high level.

BusConnects is a strategic national-level intervention for Ireland that will enhance sustainable transportation and the environment by upgrading walking, cycling and bus infrastructure in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway, and Waterford.

We have been appointed by the National Transport Authority (NTA) as their Client Partner to deliver Dublin’s BusConnects infrastructure. This will include providing programme management and multi-disciplinary expertise over a 10-year programme to deliver 12 schemes comprising 230 kilometres of continuous bus priority corridors and 200 kilometres of cycle paths and improved pedestrian facilities from procurement through to handover of this new infrastructure. The role would suit someone from a civil engineering background with specific experience on highways/roads.

Your impact

The Graphic Designer is a proactive team player, excited and ready to engage on a multitude of projects with various teams, focusing on the design and development of proposals and supporting graphics, presentations, and positioning materials - from concept to completion. Must have proven skills with Adobe CS software (primarily InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) and strong presentation development experience (primarily PowerPoint). Prior Architectural/Engineering & Construction and/or Proposal and Sales experience a plus.

Applicants must provide either a portfolio link or PDF samples of work that highlight your work in layout, graphics and presentation. This is a non-exempt, hourly paid position.

Here's What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead strategic graphic design solutions to support in the production of winning proposals, sales materials, and presentations, including but not limited to long document layouts, PowerPoint presentations, story boards, covers/dividers, marketing collateral/brochures, illustrations, and interactive PDFs
  • Plan, conceptualize and design compelling and impactful graphics while collaborating with proposal team members and technical staff to strengthen messaging
  • Convey complex, technical information more concisely by developing visually engaging graphics
  • Act as a Brand champion and resource for graphic design methods and tools, develop and implementing process improvements, tool(s) improvements, and best practices
  • Share technical expertise with others and provide guidance and support; mentor other team members in technical areas

Your impact

Your responsibilities will include various sales and business development tasks related to strategy development; client relationship management, opportunity tracking, planning, and positioning; market research; onboarding; and internal and external events. We’ll look to you to bring strong knowledge of the dynamics within FDOT’s business environment, driving factors within their business, and how Jacobs can best serve FDOT’s needs. Though you will be primarily inside sales facing, you will have an active role managing the health of Jacobs’ brand externally and keeping up to date on the competitive landscape to grow our market share.

You will also be responsible for the following:

  • Develop an understanding of Jacobs’ history with FDOT and our Transportation business, including past and current pursuits, contracts, service offerings, and performance.
  • Participate in and document go/no-go decisions, capture planning, and positioning activities.
  • Assist FDOT Account Team members with account-related activities, including researching procurement processes and requirements, Consultant Acquisition Plans, competitive landscape, contractor selection and performance, market trends, and updating Salesforce records.
  • Lead or support the coordination and preparation of proposals of all sizes and complexity, working with account, operations, technical, and production teams to ensure compliant, compelling documents that increase our chances for selection. This includes:
      • Coordinating, writing, editing, and researching non-technical proposal sections.
      • Planning and developing presentations and interviews.
      • Providing direction to graphic designers, publishing technicians, editors, reprographics specialists, and other support staff.
      • Coordinating with teaming partners and subconsultants.
      • Identifying, communicating, and mitigating potential issues/variances.
      • Supporting debriefs and gathering client feedback on proposals.
  • Thoroughly understand and apply knowledge of Jacobs' identity standards, structure, organization, business approach, sales process, and Transportation business.
  • Follow sales procedures, policies, protocols, and best practices, including standard file management and archiving procedures, as well as branding guidelines.

This is arole. Ideally, you will be based in thevicinity and work in the local Jacobs office on average 2 to 3 days per week. As FDOT is a statewide account, other Florida office locations are also available. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
