As an, you’ll have the opportunity to join one of our
Alberta offices (Calgary or Edmonton)and work on transportation projects that focus on bridge and other transportation structure design. Each day you will work with a team of technicians and engineers to create drawings and simulations using software tools and resources supporting our clients’ overall project goals. Using your experience, you’ll work with bridge engineers and project managers to provide top client service.

You’ll also create layouts, sketches, and 2D/3D modeling and electronic drawing files for construction by utilizing Microstation, AutoCAD, OpenBridge Designer, OpenRoads, Civil3D and other firm-provided resources to create detailed drawings of transportation structures.

We’re seeking an intermediate Professional Geoscientist or Professional Engineer to support brownfield re-development projects, implementing characterization and remediation solution services for industrial and government clients. You’ll apply your technical experience in environmental characterization and remediation to plan and execute tasks while championing safety and quality.

The preferred candidate will be based in Calgary or Edmonton with the flexibility to work independently at home or in teams at the office. You’ll aid in the planning and execution of field investigation activities, interpretation of data, and preparation of Phase I & II reports, conceptual site models, and other technical reports. You will support execution of the project including subcontractor procurement and oversight, environmental sample collection (such as soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, and soil vapour), and reporting. You’ll be supported by a diverse group of industry leading technical experts available through our multiple communities of practice. You’ll drive innovation and promote the use of digital tools and electronic data capture. You’ll build strong relationships with our clients and work with client account managers to position and win new work. You’ll demonstrate continuous alignment to Jacobs core values to achieve our clients’ goals.

Based throughout Western Canada, this position may have the opportunity to be fulltime based on workload or skillset and will begin in the spring. You’ll have the opportunity to work as part of multi-disciplinary project teams associated with our Western Canada Offices and projects to contribute directly to the environmental planning, permitting, and construction support efforts of government and privately-owned infrastructure projects. As an, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading field crews for multiple survey scopes, including data collection efforts, managing multi-person crews of various experience and scope, liaising with client field contacts, assisting with the development of methodology, and some technical writing. While field-based wildlife studies will comprise the majority of work, the Intermediate Wildlife Field Biologist could also be required to support other biophysical disciplines as needed.
