Job Purpose

The Junior Data Center Technician is responsible for ensuring all activities carried out in the Data Center & Access Centers conform to Data Center Procedures and industry best practice.

The Junior Data Center Technician performs routine data center operations work with a focus on learning and administering current data center procedures.

The role will also be requiring assisting Data Center Engineers to gather information for a work order.

Responsibilities

  • Support storage tape removal and pick up
  • Provide escorted access for vendors and COLO customers
  • Carry out daily checks to ensure security and access policies are being adhered to and Data Center cleanliness is maintained.
  • Carry out QA in Data Center Halls and access centers.
  • Control Data Center stocks (copper/fibers patch cables, fiber cleaning accessories, cables labels, etc.) and report appropriately

Knowledge and Experience

  • Basic computer hardware knowledge
  • 0-1+ years' experience of working in Data Center environments
  • Good Understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Demonstrate ability to perform in a high paced work environment, good problem solving techniques, communicating issues and results to co-workers and escalating to immediate management
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment as a member of a self-managed work team, in rotational assignments, or as a member of a project team
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn
  • Effective written and verbal communication at all levels

Responsibilities

  • Lead QA Engineer must be able to do session level, functional, technical, failover and performance testing across the entire stack – application, hardware, firmware, OS and network.
  • Review code base and make recommendations for testing scenarios; analyze changes introduced and assess the technical testing required.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to build scenarios in requirements, design and coding phases.
  • Perform analysis of data from QA and production to build testing tools and scenarios.
  • Maintain testing and analysis tools; identify any negative changes to both QA and production environments and work with teams to resolve those concerns.
  • Take the initiative to improve efficiencies across systems/projects.
  • Support operations, including executing process validations, methodology and audits.
  • The candidate will also be responsible for building automation in one of the languages, Perl or Python to help ensure the delivery of quality trading system applications and drive solutions

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer, working on low latency client/server applications.
  • Must have 4+ years of Linux/Unix experience. Red Hat is preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience including software design, development, testing and deployment.
  • Intermediate to advanced programming/scripting knowledge in Python or Perl.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a highly demanding and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently on multiple projects.
  • Ability to differentiate between a critical business impacting incident and a minor problem, and resolve/escalate accordingly.

Preferred Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience with Trading and financial applications is a plus.
  • Knowledge of FIX or Multicast protocol is a plus.
  • Experience with supporting production changes, UAT testing and debugging prod issues.

As a Senior QA Analyst you will work with the Systems Analysts and Development Teams to understand the business/product and system requirements. You will create and execute test plans and test cases. You will be responsible for maintaining QA artifacts by following the current standards along with coordinating test execution, training users, and providing user support.

Responsibilities

  • Document, maintain and execute detailed test cases to validate system functionality, identify and document software defects, and track test case execution status.
  • Create test plans for software releases to detail the overall strategy for testing complex systems, including defining resources and test scope for each test cycle, and identifying dependencies and risks.
  • Deploy software release builds, maintain test environments, and perform troubleshooting software / hardware configuration problems.
  • Work with technology team in building cutting edge Clearing Systems including back-end clearing, intraday risk management, delivery management, and settlement management systems.
  • Test systems in a multi-tiered based design featuring Java and JavaScript architectures. JavaScript architectures tested will include extJS, JQuery, Oracle APEX, and ReactJS.
  • Gain experience with Iterative and Agile software development methodologies.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise application testing (test case development and execution)
  • Strong background in functional testing with the ability to design and develop comprehensive test strategy and test cases.
  • Strong background in reviewing business and functional requirements in order to produce a test strategy and test cases.
  • Experience participating in all aspects of a full-lifecycle development methodology, and related quality concepts and processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of testing process, testing methodology analysis and defect reporting tools.
  • Experience with both White Box and Black Box Testing.
  • B.S. or higher in Computer Science or related discipline; or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years experience writing and executing complex SQL queries
