Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain reusable and scalable automation frameworks using Java, Selenium WebDriver, and Katalon Studio for web, mobile, and API testing.
  • Create and execute complex automated test scripts to cover functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing scenarios.
  • Conduct API performance testing and benchmarking using tools like JMeter, Postman, or SOAP UI to ensure system robustness under load.
  • Develop, customize, and maintain simulators to emulate real-world conditions for testing and validation purposes.
  • Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and ensure smooth execution across environments.
  • Automate repetitive manual processes to improve efficiency and reduce testing cycle time.
  • Implement data-driven and keyword-driven testing approaches to enhance test coverage and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with developers to identify testability requirements and incorporate automation hooks in the codebase.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot automation execution, resolving framework or script-related issues promptly.
  • Perform root cause analysis of defects and work with teams to implement preventive measures.
  • Generate comprehensive test reports, dashboards, and metrics using tools like Allure or Extent Reports for stakeholder visibility.
  • Optimize test scripts for faster execution and minimal resource consumption.
  • Lead efforts to evaluate and adopt new automation tools or frameworks to stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Mentor junior team members, conduct knowledge-sharing sessions, and document automation best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of hands-on experience in automation testing or engineering with a strong focus on Java programming.
  • Advanced proficiency in Java, Selenium WebDriver, and Katalon Studio for building robust automation frameworks.
  • Expertise in API performance testing using JMeter, Postman, or similar tools, with a focus on latency, throughput, and scalability.
  • Demonstrated experience in simulator development and maintenance for testing complex systems.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD integration with tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or Bamboo.
  • Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git) and branching strategies.
  • Experience with test management tools like JIRA, Rally for planning and tracking automation efforts.
  • Ability to design and implement hybrid, data-driven, or keyword-driven automation frameworks.
  • Familiarity with RESTful and SOAP API testing, including automation of API workflows.
  • Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
  • Proficiency in writing advanced SQL queries for database validation and test data preparation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with mobile automation tools like Appium or cloud-based platforms (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
  • Exposure to additional performance testing tools like LoadRunner or Gatling.
  • Certification in ISTQB Foundation/Advanced, Selenium, or Java programming.
  • Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker for test environment setup.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or JavaScript for supplementary automation tasks.
  • Previous experience in leading automation projects or managing small teams
