As a Process Engineer here at Honeywell, you will use your expertise in chemical process engineering to deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will be responsible for providing technical leadership and operational oversight to the process. The Process Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive innovation, ensure process efficiency, and achieve business objectives. Your work will contribute to optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring high product quality, and minimizing environmental impact. You will report directly to our Senior Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Clover, SC location on an onsite work schedule.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Develop process models, heat and material balances, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, layout, basic control schemes, and equipment specifications
•Identify and mitigate technical and process safety risks during design
•Provide on-site technical support during project construction, commissioning, startup, and product trials
•Identify and evaluate process alternatives during design and justify process improvements with economic evaluations and optimizing energy consumption
•Work with manufacturing sites to develop, implement and lead productivity projects, demonstrating knowledge of engineering techniques to optimize manufacturing processes
•Perform root cause analysis and process Hazard Analysis
•Maintain engineering documents and develop technical solutions
•Identify process KPI/KPOs, develop process control plans and create process packages
• Scope Capital projects
•Utilize Six Sigma tools
•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering or in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, or mathematics
•3+ years of Process Engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing sector
•Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
•Ability to focus on important information and identify key details

There is an immediate opening for a R&D Engineer/Scientist II position in the Engineering, Design and Construction Group within our Research and Development facilities. This is a shakedown technician that is accountable for startup and testing of new and/or revamped pilot plants for Research and Development. This role involves ensuring that all machinery and processes are functioning correctly and efficiently prior to data collection operation. The operator will work closely with engineering, crafts & services, and the operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the shakedown process.
This position has responsibilities on-site at both the Riverside/McCook and Des Plaines sites.
· Responsible for the HS&E performance of the Design and Construction Group ensuring that all HS&E policies and procedures are followed and that commissioning activities are done in a safe manner and in adherence to environmental policies and regulations.
· Accountable for the development of all engineering standards for the commissioning of new or revamped pilot plants
· Be the subject matter expert on the operation of pilot plant equipment including mechanical equipment, instrumentation, and vessels
· Follow and mark up piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID).
· Identify and troubleshoot issues with equipment and processes.
· Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve problems.
· Document and report findings and adjustments made during the shakedown process.
· Provide training and guidance to other operators and staff as needed.
· High school diploma or equivalent
· 5+ years of experience operating pilot plants
· Proven track record of problem solving and troubleshooting skills
· Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of pilot plant operations and instruments.
· Strong communication and documentation skills
