As a Sr HSE Specialist here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for overseeing and directing the organization's health, safety, and environmental engineering efforts. You will ensure the highest standards of health and safety for employees, compliance with environmental regulations, and the implementation of best practices in engineering-related safety.

You’ll work out of our Mississauga, ON location on an on-site work schedule.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Honeywell's Aerospace Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems (ISO 45001 and ISO 14001).
  • Partner with business leaders and employees to continuously improve HSE competence, culture, awareness and accountability, in support of site and business group HSE objectives.
  • Utilize six-sigma tools and behavior-based safety strategies to guide injury prevention efforts.
  • Support incident investigations, determine root cause, develop corrective actions, and conduct closure verification activities. Monitor trends and champion injury/illness reduction.
  • Support HSE inspections, self-assessments and audits. Manage reports and present summaries to management with recommended solutions. Manage corrective action closure.
  • Provide expertise during concept and design phases of manufacturing processes to ensure that sound HSE control methodologies are integrated into design.
  • Coordinate and manage critical HSE programs, such as confined space, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, fall protection, hazardous waste management, etc., and work to continuously improve integration of processes across the site.
  • Coordinate safety assessments, and deploy corrective measures to continuously reduce site hazard risk profile.
  • Evaluate the health/safety and environmental impact, and evaluate potential exposures, of using new chemicals and processes prior to introduction to site.
  • Coordinate and conduct employee HSE training activities.
  • Serve as liaison with third-party assessors and regulatory agencies.
  • Lead the site Emergency Response Team.
  • Support the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
  • Assume the role of Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) or Alternate RSO, ensuring site compliance with Federal and Provincial radiation safety regulations.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Minimum 6 years of HSE experience.
  • Post secondary education in Occupational Safety and Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or other related field is required.

WE VALUE

  • Recognized certification in safety, health, or environmental field.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Management Systems.
  • Experience with auditing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Management Systems (internal auditor training certificate).
  • Experience with Radiation Safety (Certified - RSO).
  • Training and experience in health, safety, and/or environmental auditing.
  • Have thorough understanding, and experience with OHSA and EPA regulatory requirements.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including but not limited to MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability to work on teams, both as team member and as team leader.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and influence others to achieve HSE objectives, including excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Highly motivated, energetic, detail oriented, self-directed individual with good analytical and problem-solving skills.

You will report directly to our Sr Field Service Supervisor and you'll work on customer sites.In this role, you will impact the success of our customers by delivering high-quality technical support and service, ensuring the smooth operation of their systems and equipment.Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on small projects under supervision
  • Work with Service Manager to Maximize spot and SSJ revenues

  • Be able to work independently onsite on BAS contracts as an Honeywell representative
  • Reports on-going performance and proactive opportunities to the customer, maintains reporting systems that provide accurate, timely and pertinent information on contract performance (PM Reports, Forge Reports)
  • Supports and incorporates a continuous quality improvement philosophy that encourages innovation, cooperation and teamwork
  • Coordinate Honeywell resources on site to maximize productivity and adherence to contract performance objectives
  • Help in Honeywell team technical development by providing training and sharing knowledge with other technicians.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Post-Secondary education in an engineering or technical field with knowledge of HVAC
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience within technical or business field
  • Immunization (including COVID-19 vaccination) as required by the customer and in accordance with the Public Health Act.
  • Able to work after hours to attend urgent calls on a rotational basis on call
  • A Class G driver’s license

WE VALUE

  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience within technical or business field
  • Training/Certification on Honeywell software programming tools.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to use tools and test equipment.
  • Self motivated individual with good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to recognize and sell system enhancements
  • Previous technical/installation experience
  • Previous customer service experience.
