Essential Responsibilities

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Specifying requirements which can be implemented by the engineering team
• Executing design to engineering standards
• Developing methods to quantify subsystem interactions and their effects on image quality
• Verification and validation of system features and sub-systems relating to X-ray exposure control, image processing, and visualization.

MS in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 4 years relevant work experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating detector solutions for DXA systems. Determine design approaches and parameters; conduct experimental tests & evaluate results.
• Work with cross-functional team to integrate detector technology with other system hardware and software and clinical algorithms.
• Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others
• Uses judgment to make decisions or solve complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus.
• Uses Matlab or other equivalent statistical tools
• Understanding of various components involvedwith X-ray & Detector technology and the implications beam geometry in imaging acquisition, dose and image quality

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering / Science within a related discipline.
• 5+ years of strong experience, showing career progression, within product and technology development roles.

You will:

• utilize in-depth knowledge of software libraries, tools, and engineering best practices to implement efficient, scalable, and reusable solutions for advanced cross-modality-guided interventions and high-performance brain MRI,

• customize and harmonize MRI scanner software for multiple investigational MRI platforms, and

• communicate solutions and analyses via written reports and presentations

Required Qualifications

• Master’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field with at least 15 years of experience implementing customized systems software configurations for investigational MRI scanners.

• Experience with ExSI, ImageListener and SVAT protocols for customized MRI scanner workflow control.

• Experience in developing/ modifying RPMs for investigational MRI scanner installations across multiple sites.

• Proficiency with C, C++, Python or similar, programming languages for customized data communication and processing.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a Magnetic Resonance Research Scientist, you will:

• Apply knowledge and experience in MR physics, mathematics, engineering and chemistry to conceptualize and prototype novel MR systems and software solutions that address key clinical needs.

• Develop next-generation MRI sub-systems with enhanced capabilities, and associated applications that leverage them. Examples are in high-performance gradient coils, RF coils, receiver sub-systems, gradient drivers, etc.

• Determine the impact of systems hardware performance on image quality and safety.

• Develop algorithmic and/ or systems hardware solutions for MR-guided therapy and interventional applications.

• Grow external collaborations with academic and industry partners through joint publications, grant submissions and technology development.

• Work with clinicians to refine emerging technologies for clinical applications.

• Create intellectual property by generating invention disclosures and filing patents.

• Maintain external visibility through conference presentations and peer-reviewed journal publications.

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in Physics, Medical Physics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Engineering, or other related fields, with at least 4 years of research experience.

• A demonstrated record of research and development as evidenced by peer-reviewed conference proceedings and journal publications.

• Strong fundamentals in MR imaging physics, electromagnetic theory, and MR hardware sub-systems.

• Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to understand and address root causes of MR image quality issues in investigational prototypes.

• Proficiency in programming in C, Python and/ or simulation tools.

Additionally, you will be responsible for:
Developing and implementing novel machine learning algorithms particularly in the area of LLM to provide automation of clinical tasks using one or more of medical images, electronic medical records, waveforms, and clinical reports.
Demonstrating algorithms to meet accuracy requirements on general subject population through statistical analyses and error estimation.
Exploring learning from human feedback and assisting humans evaluating AI.
Building prototypes to enable development of high-performance AI algorithms in scalable, product-ready code.
Initiating/proposing unique and promising deep learning capabilities, developing new and innovative algorithms and technologies, pursuing patents where appropriate.
Working with large-scale datasets, designing, and developing generative algorithms.
Staying current on published state-of-the-art algorithms and competing technologies.

Basic Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in a “STEM” major (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent field plus 5 years AI development for industrial applications in a commercial setting OR Ph.D. in a “STEM” major (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent field plus 3 years AI development for industrial applications in a commercial setting OR Ph.D. in a “STEM” major (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent field plus 1 years of AI development for Healthcare applications.
• Publications as first author on LLM/Foundational/Multimodal models or self-supervised learning (SSL).
• Demonstrated expertise in building large scale AI such as generative AI models, large vision/language models, and multi-modal AI models for problems related to segmentation, detection, quantification, measurements, classification, etc.
• Implementation experience with a variety of high-level languages (e.g. Python, C++)
• Experience with high-dimensional imaging data and waveform/time-series data.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience and demonstrated capability to handle challenges with vague or abstract problem definition.
• Experience with frameworks and tools such as DeepSpeed, HuggingFace, Megatron, PyTorch lightning, etc.
• Experience with various MLOps, ModelOps, FMOps (Foundation Model Ops) methods.
• Experience working with large scale AI training.
• An in-depth understanding of machine learning algorithms and modeling (e.g., semi-supervised or weakly supervised learning, generative models, transfer learning, optimization, large language models, etc.)
• Track record in developing machine learning solutions using massive real-world data for solving real world business problems.
• In depth experience with Spark/Hadoop and either PyTorch/Tensorflow
• Experience creating production environment data analytics and applications
