What You’ll Do:

• Investigate clinical needs and requirements and communicate results to engineering
• Work collaboratively with software engineering teams to design suitable solutions to complex clinical problems.

• Create and submit research publications to demonstrate the capabilities of MIM’s software tools

What You’ll Need:

• Create and edit workflows that automate and configure user steps within the MIM software suite of products
• Troubleshoot issues in existing workflows
• Creatively solve problems for users in a clinical market (Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Oncology, etc) and learn about related clinical use cases as needed
• Code review workflows made by others and validate outputs
• Write automated tests for workflows
• Provide documentation and training for workflows built during the internship
• Work closely with experienced workflow engineers, including a personal mentor
• Learn about engineering principles in an industry environment
• Work on real functionality with a real world impact on customers

What You’ll Need:

• Some experience writing code in coursework, projects, or previous internships
• An active pursuit of a bachelor's degree, such as in computer science, mathematics, physics, or another engineering discipline
• Prior experience with writing scripts is preferred
• General problem-solving skills
• Strong analytical thinking
• Communication, organization, and time management skills
• An aptitude for math and science

• An existing understanding of medical imaging is not required

• Write Java code in a large, longstanding, always evolving code base
• Create UI in Java using Swing
• Write documentation
• Test code and write unit tests
• Work closely with experienced software engineers, including a personal mentor
• Learn about software engineering principles in an industry environment
• Learn about engineering best practices for development of regulated medical software
• Work on real features with a real world impact on customers

• Work independently and as part of a larger team within our research and engineering groups to develop novel algorithms in medical imaging.
• Perform analysis and validation on MIM's software products.
• Develop prototype algorithms using tools such as Python or MATLAB.
• Communicate research results and hypotheses within the MIM community of researchers.
• Help other employees based on project needs and the intern's interest.

What You’ll Need:

• Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in a computer science, biomedical engineering, applied math, or another algorithmic-centric discipline.
• Should have experience in medical imaging, numerical methods, machine learning, or registration and segmentation algorithms.
• Should have programming experience in Java, MATLAB, or Python and be familiar with common scientific or numerical packages or libraries.

• Must have strong interpersonal communication skills, as well as intellectual curiosity
