Description:
Ideally, you are an experienced professional with an analytical mindset and work experience in algorithm development, data analysis and product SW development for cardiology applications. We offer a position in Helsinki in a team of experts that covers all stages of the product lifecycle, from applied technology and product development to sustaining the installed base, across a broad variety of vital signs measurement technologies.
Key responsibilities
  • Conduct data analysis and algorithm development to further improve vital signs monitoring performance.
  • Create and maintain product software in senior algorithm developer role, through close collaboration and interaction with other algorithm & software developers, engineers and project & product managers.
  • Guide and conduct hands-on data collection, dataset validation, performance testing, and creation of documentation for regulatory approvals, sales and customers.
  • Ensure that all developed algorithms comply with relevant medical device regulations and standards.
  • Conduct studies with other engineers and clinicians to evaluate the potential of new approaches and their application.
Qualifications
  • MSc or DSc (Tech.) degree in medical physics, bioelectronics, computer science, mathematics or related discipline.
  • Expert knowledge and work experience on physiological data conditioning, analysis, and algorithm development.
  • Fluent in using Python and/or Matlab for algorithm development.
  • Skills in programming, compiling and reviewing C/C++ code and working in a scrum team.
  • Hands-on experience with physiological data collection and dataset verification.
  • Work experience in algorithm development, focusing on applications in vital signs monitoring and anomaly detection.
  • Understanding of the methods and procedures for medical device development.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A proven track record working with medical devices and vital signs monitoring.
  • Knowledge on EU and FDA regulation related to medical devices and their verification.
  • Ability to approach topics holistically and from the end-user perspective; understanding how different technological choices affect customer outcomes.
  • Ambition to grow and expand expertise across various vital signs, including heart rate & arrhythmias, respiration rate, blood oxygenation, and blood pressure.
  • Potential to grow into a “technology owner” role for vital sign monitoring, developing deep expertise and linking business needs to technical solutions in technology roadmaps.
  • Prior experience in AI/ML methods for physiological feature extraction.
  • Experience as a scrum master.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, including internationally.
