The Lead Engineer Supplier Quality & Development (f/m/d) is responsible for promoting the quality of the assigned suppliers, including the implementation of the quality plan. The selection of suppliers through qualification processes. Own supplier results, improvements through the use of supplier scorecards. Conducting supplier audits, ensuring compliance and advancing improvement plans.


Role and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development.

  • Includes supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, and assisting key suppliers towards industrial standards of excellence.

  • Cares for the effective design transfer of New Product Introduction Programs from GE Healthcare Engineering development to deliver a High Quality, Manufacturable solution at our selected suppliers.

  • Evaluates supplier technical capabilities as an enabler for the best supplier selection process possible.

  • Establish and empower working relationships with external and internal interfaces (Suppliers, Sourcing, Design and Manufacturing Engineering, Service, etc).

  • Influences the product design specifications at the design stage to support effective Design transfer to Manufacturing to ensure that customer requirements are understood, internalized and implemented in all New Products Development Programs.

  • Ensures adequate due diligence is applied throughout the NPI cycle to deliver to Program and Customer requirements.

  • Drives a continuous improvement culture in all we do: Design, Manufacturing and Program Delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology or a related discipline

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in quality management

  • Practical knowledge of Electronics Manufacturing Environment and Manufacturing Processes both for flex and rigid Electronic Boards

  • Effective problem solving, root-cause analytical skills and influence others to drive change (cross-functional and global) (TPS, 6 Sigma, Lean experience)

  • Experience with industrial development methods, DFM, DFT applications and subsequent implementation at the level of new product introduction are appreciated

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Established skills in project management

  • Willingness to travel within Europe 10-20%

  • Fluent communication in English, German is a plus

  • Desired Knowledge of the IPC-A-610 standard for the acceptance of electronic assemblies

With this internship, you will support the local Image Quality Team in exploring new innovative visualization techniques to further improve ultrasound imaging. The internship is planned to last for 4 months.

Research and application of state-of-the-art imaging filters on ultrasound datasets to evaluate their clinical relevance towards potential future implementations (from e.g. available photo-editor / image-processing SW, tools from daily practice devices like mobile phone, etc.).


Responsibilities
  • Research of modern imaging technologies, like e.g. used on consumer electronic devices (mobile phone)
  • Application of available Photo-editor and MATLAB imaging filters/tools on clinical ultrasound datasets
  • Analysis of potential clinical fields and relevance of selected imaging filters and tools

Qualifications
  • Actively studying a degree program in medical engineering or a comparable field of study (incl. image and signal processing)
  • Experience with MATLAB preferred
  • General knowledge of digital signal processing techniques applied to medical images
  • Strong communication skills in German and English (written and oral)
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team

  • Represents GE Healthcare to external agencies and champions the evolution of the quality culture which includes executing and driving quality objectives, metrics, reporting and operating mechanisms.
  • Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or experience. Understands how work of self and team contributes to the success of the overall department.
  • Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults People Leader or more senior team members for issues outside of defined parameters.
  • Collaborates with others to solve issues. Exchanges technical information asks questions and checks for understanding.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in Quality Management Systems and working in a regulated environment (preferably Medtech, Medical Device or Healthcare Quality). Knowledge level required is comparable to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
  • practical experience and application in international quality management systems with a focus on medical devices preferred
  • knowledge of tools for continuous improvement of QMS processes
    (ideally bringing experience in working with LEAN methodologies)
  • Practical experience in project management
  • MS Office skills
  • Languages: German fluent, English min. level B2
