Key Roles and Responsibilities of Position

· Drive Flawless Launches at assigned supplier sites, collaborating with Launch STA team (Ex: Schedule A, PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), Supplier Quality Issues resolution). Escalate significant issues promptly and ‘date to green’ plan to appropriate management

· Conduct onsite evaluation visits for Priority commodities as per GPDS supplier engagement process for new programs.

· Review supplier incremental tooling work plans compliance to PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) requirements

· Drive capacity/uplift actions implementation with suppliers in line with the GCP study requirements

· Drive Supplier Process capacity issues resolution as needed – Production constraint risk mitigation working with Ford and Supplier teams and manage “date to green” plan

· Monitor supply status of 24/7 roster suppliers and Blue bar status of PPAPs beyond implementation timing

· Review supplier Capacity Analysis Reports (CAR) for compliance to uplift capacity requirements.

· Drive robust Supplier Failure Mode Avoidance through PFMEA, SCCAF, CP reviews, Manufacturing feasibility reviews and Health chart deployment as applicable.

· Drive Supplier manufacturing health chart compliance and support development of new health charts

· Drive suppliers for Special process compliance with the support of STA Technical Specialists

· Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing excellence with the assigned sites through Q1-MSA deployment, Q1 attainment/ retention, Health chart deployment, Supplier training as required.

· Drive deployment & improvement of Quality performance requirements (Q1, QR, TGW, R/1000, CPU), through Warranty Reduction, Benchmarking, Lean Manufacturing, G8D (Global 8 Disciplines) methodology, PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), Gage R&R (Repeatability and Reproducibility), Gage R&R (Repeatability and Reproducibility), etc.) as required.

· Drive new supplier site evaluations and Supplier Risk Assessment on new sourcing in support of GCST, identifying Risk Mitigation.

· Drive closure of supplier process Quality issues related to Stop Ship/Build, BSAQ (Balanced Single Agenda for Quality) projects and Field Action Stop Ship/Prevent Action

· Drive compliance to all organizational and corporate training requirements and SIM process compliance.

  • Training Strategy & Implementation: Develop and execute a comprehensive training strategy aligned with new product and technology launches, encompassing processes, facilities, tooling, and equipment.
  • Resource Coordination: Coordinate the availability of training resources, including facilities, equipment, instructors (internal and OEM), and training materials.
  • Product Specialist Group (PSG) & Launch Skilled Trades Specialist (LSTS) Program Support: Support the PSG and LSTS programs by communicating roles and responsibilities, tracking essential training, and serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for key resources.
  • Launch Task Management: Implement, assess, and report on all launch training activities, ensuring adherence to Value Optimization (VO) & Production Throughput Optimization (PTO) related launch tasks and deliverables (e.g., LQOS Tasks 203, 822, 116) and the Training Plan for Every Person (TPFEP).
  • Training Systems & Infrastructure: Ensure appropriate training systems are in place to support launch training activities, including classrooms, static training areas, simulators, and training vehicles.
  • Budget Management: Develop, secure, and manage a multi-million dollar launch training budget, pursuing federal, state, and other funding sources to supplement plant training efforts.
  • Supplier & OEM Training Oversight: Ensure training specifications are utilized by suppliers/OEMs and other providers, and that supplier technical training course materials are accessible electronically to plant personnel.
  • Project Management: Utilize project management skills to manage training-related tasks, standards, timing, and resources, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Tracking & Reporting: Utilize appropriate tracking tools (e.g., GPDS, VO 203 and PTO 822 Templates, OKT8 Scorecard, TPFEP Calendar) to maintain and report on training record completion.
  • Training Effectiveness Evaluation: Evaluate the impact and effectiveness of training activities through data collection, analysis, and reporting. Monitor the effectiveness and certification (if required) of internal and external learning and development facilitators.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a resource to relevant union leadership and plant management personnel in determining the best selection process for training programs.

  • Effectively participate in equipment design and buy off to ensure equipment’s are meeting RFQ requirements.

  • Identify local equipment manufacturers to deliver program within budget.
  • Develop clear training plan for self and for the maintenance technicians to ensure smooth ownership transfer.
  • Work with individual equipment suppliers to develop critical spares list and initiate necessary process to obtain the same.
  • Work with production team to develop any small tool requirement that comes up during various pre-build phases.
