Responsibilities:
Evaluates and researches data and will propose product specifications to define feasibility of product proposal.
Confers with the support team personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop corrective action, method improvement to resolve problems.
Prepares or directs preparation of product layout and design by using detailed drawings (i.e., visuals, Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI).
Directs and coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype product or system.
Confers with other engineering personnel and prepares design modifications as required.
Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.
Coordinates engineering activities for the Customer Focus Team (CFT) and coordinates with the customer to resolve production problems.
Develops and updates documentation to establish production methodology and requirements.
Ability to apply Lean Manufacturing tools to improve the efficiency (value add) and reduce the waste in the manufacturing floor (Non value add)
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations.
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees of organization.
Qualifications:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineer or equivalent experience.
Use of Lean Manufacturing tools required: Value Stream Map, SMD, 5s, Capacity and Time Studies, etc.
5+ years’ experience as an Industrial Engineer required.
Use of the following tools may be required: Electronic Assembly: color code, component, schematics.
Mechanical & Electrical Tools: taps and dies, alignment tools, measuring tools.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
5+ years of talent sourcing experience ideally in the high-tech, manufacturing or industrial industries.

What a typical day looks like:
The primary function of the position is to help create a culture that identifies, eliminates, and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage using safety standards, best management practices, and analytical techniques long with Behavior based safety programs
Direct and organize EHS-related projects for the site to include:
Serve as EHS Engineer for site:
Oversee for Environmental Health, Safety and sustainability reporting and compliance.
“Champion” the Safety Committee and act as a resource to sub committees.
Responsible for leading cross-functional safety teams and work groups as required.
Assist in the day-to-day activities and communications regarding Safety.
Provide support to manufacturing staff and focus on safety awareness, prevention, and training.
Assist site management in implementing health and safety programs and procedures.
Training:
Develop, maintain, and disseminate a variety of safety information and training topics.
Coordinate training program for EHS&S related trainings.
Compliance / Recordkeeping:
Ensure OSHA, EPA, and other EH&S compliance.
Meet compliance and reporting requirements of federal &/or state regulations.
Meet all site required documentation related to safety issues (i.e. accident reports, inspection reports, training logs, etc.).
Maintain systems to track key EHS&S performance indicators.
Audits / Prevention:
Manage risk prevention activities include accidents, emergencies, or other unsafe conditions.
Coordinate audits: EHS, IH, Loss Control Incident Investigation, Plant Noise Sampling, etc.
Review and implementrecommendations/correctiveactions from audits as agreed upon.
Work with cross functional team on safety inspections, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
Conduct regular review of existing EHS&S programs to maintain regulatory and corporate compliance
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field required; relevant experience may be substituted for education.
At least 3-5 years of occupational health and safety experience in an industrial environment required, preferably in manufacturing or construction.
Prior certification in AED, First Aid/CPR, and OSHA standards preferred
