This position works with modern applications and modern workflows and requires an intermediate level knowledge of containers, programming languages and source control (git). Experience with one of the major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure), orchestration, and Kubernetes is required.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Implement, configure and review pre-release products to provide feedback to Product Engineering and Product Management.
  • Provide technical subject matter expertise as a member of an agile team.
  • Work as part of an agile team to deliver release readiness content for customers.
  • Present work in progress deliverables at system demos.
  • Review release readiness material produced by the agile team.

Qualifications

How do you qualify?

  • Hold a BS in Computer Sciences (or related degree) or showcase equivalent experience

  • Provide at least 8 years of relevant work experience

Knowledge that you will utilize:

  • 3+ years of knowledge of load balancers, web servers, caching, and web-enabled applications and their associated protocols, e.g., HTTP, TCP/IP, WebSocket

  • 2+ years with SSL, SMTP, DNS, etc.

  • 3-plus years of knowledge of Linux or Unix, preferably at a system administrator level

  • Comfortable in a highly technical software support environment

  • Experience with network troubleshooting using tools like tcpdump or Wireshark

Strong working experience with the following:

  • Container platforms (eg. Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, OpenShift)

  • Troubleshooting REST APIs (familiar with JSON and YAML)

  • Scripting and/or Automation (eg. Python, Shell scripts, Ansible)

  • Cloud platforms and infrastructure (eg. AWS/Azure/GCE, Terraform)

  • Shell environments (eg. Bash)

  • Familiarity with proxy servers (eg, NGINX)

  • Experience with system tools, such as SystemTap and DTrace, are a plus

  • Comfortable with the layers of abstraction present in virtualization, encapsulation, and clustered computing environments.

  • Familiarity with a wide variety of networking topics.

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently, including technical concepts and terminology. Multiple language skills a plus.

Strategy Deployment Engineer

This position works with modern applications and modern workflows and requires an intermediate level knowledge of containers, programming languages and source control (git). Experience with one of the major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure), orchestration, and Kubernetes is required.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Implement, configure and review pre-release products to provide feedback to Product Engineering and Product Management.
  • Provide technical subject matter expertise as a member of an agile team.
  • Work as part of an agile team to deliver release readiness content for customers.
  • Present work in progress deliverables at system demos.
  • Review release readiness material produced by the agile team.
  • Participate in projects of moderate complexity with minimal need for supervision or assistance.
  • Continue education on new technologies related to F5 products and services.
  • Participate in agile rituals and activities.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 8 years relevant work experience in enterprise level environments.
  • Able to demonstrate an advanced understanding of system engineering and knowledge of enterprise architectures.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Undergraduate Computer Science degree or equivalent work experience.
