Data Modeler – Senior

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Consultant Data Modeler with expertise in delivering data models that meet business requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong client management and communication skills, along with a proven track record of successful end-to-end implementations in data engineering projects.


In this role, you will design and build analytics solutions that deliver significant business value. You will collaborate with other data and analytics professionals, management, and stakeholders to ensure that technical requirements align with business needs. Your responsibilities will include creating scalable data models and solutions that support the entire data asset lifecycle.

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Data Modeler, you will play a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable insights. Your time will be spent on various responsibilities, including:

  • Lead the design and development of conceptual, logical, and physical data models for the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), adhering to Kimball dimensional methodology (dimensional modeling approach), a core skill for this role .
  • Design and implement star schemas (Fact and Dimension tables) to support enterprise analytical, Business Intelligence (BI), and reporting requirements with high performance and query efficiency.
  • Define and model Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD) , with an emphasis on SCD Type 2 , to accurately capture and preserve the full historical context of dimension attributes (e.g., customer addresses, product categories) over time.
  • Collaboratively determine the appropriate grain (atomic level of detail) for fact tables and identify measurable facts (metrics) and their relationships to the surrounding dimension tables.
  • Design highly denormalized dimension structures to reduce joins and simplify querying for end-users and analytical tools.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design appropriate data models that align with business needs.
  • Create and maintain data dictionaries and metadata repositories to ensure consistency and integrity of data models.
  • Identify and resolve data model performance issues to optimize database performance and enhance overall system functionality.
  • Manage and provide guidance to a small team of 1-3 resources
  • Document and communicate data model designs and standards to ensure understanding and compliance across the organization.
  • Create detailed source-to-target mapping (STM) documentation and data transformation specifications for ETL/ELT developers, including all SCD Type 2 logic and surrogate key generation rules.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and trends in data modelling and incorporate new techniques and methodologies into our data modelling processes.
  • Guide team on implementing data modelling techniques such as Kimball’s dimensional modeling
  • Developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support data analysis and business intelligence.
  • Utilize industry-standard data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, PowerDesigner, ER/Studio) to create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical models, and to manage version control.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A Bachelor’s degree in STEM
  • 7+ Years of hands-on Experience in data modelling
  • Strong understanding of SQL and data modelling concepts such as Kimball dimensional modeling
  • Experience working with major enterprise relational database platforms or cloud data warehouses (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing principles, ETL/ELT architecture, data quality management, and metadata management.
  • Mastery of SCD Type 2 (SCD2) implementation for preserving historical data (e.g., using surrogate keys , start/end dates, and current/active flags). Familiarity with other SCD types (Type 1, 3, 4, 6) is also expected
  • The ability to analyze complex business processes and translate abstract business requirements into precise, efficient technical data models.
  • Proficiency in data modelling tools such as Erwin / Visio or Power Designer
  • Experience in designing and implementing database structures
  • Ability to create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for data modelling and database design
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data requirements
  • Experience in performance tuning and optimization of database queries
  • Having cloud certification is an added advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge in Hospitality Domain is mandatory.

Your key responsibilities

As a Payroll Services Implementations Senior Manager, you will lead our US Payroll Implementation team and our most complex global payroll implementations for large global clients. You will supervise the design, implementation and smooth transition to new global payroll operate model. You will also drive or support our effort in continuous innovation, building our next generation payroll solutions, and enhance our project delivery tools. Capabilities include medium to large payroll project management, risk control, process design and procedure documentation. Governance of payroll implementation is key, and you will lead the global country teams utilizing our one global methodology throughout our global payroll implementation life cycle to mitigate project risk.

  • Lead our Americas based implementation team
  • Collaborate closely with our global implementation leader and regional implementation leaders and teams
  • Support the Engagement Leader to ensure efficient and effective transition and implementation of services to EY, including interfaces with client local country contacts, shared service centers, tax/finance stakeholders and related EY network.
  • Execution of the global payroll implementations in a multi-country environment by clearly understanding the global payroll methodologies & requirements from clients.
  • Prepare the detailed program roadmap, project plan & follow the project guidelines as well as globally defined standards and methodology.Liaison with the client and the various internal teams to ascertain project scope, parameters and timeframes, enabling the client to sign off mutually agreed project timeline, milestones and deliverables.
  • Centrally manage the program/project Governance, which enable Senior Management / Leadership to understand the status and critical paths of each project, using project management skills to support & execute seamless implementation, anticipating challenges and proposing solutions.
  • Process business requirementsdocuments. Develop infrastructure impact statements, feasibility studies, project charters, resource assignment RACIs, risk management plans, communications plans, and change management plans.
  • Work with globalprojectmanager to establish standard end-to-end project plan / approach & ensure effective procedures are established for setup of internal and external systems, tools, and processes as part of the client transition process.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks. Report and escalate to management as needed. Manage project communications to include the sharing of team meeting minutes, project status reports, and issue/risk logs.
  • Effective communication with internal teams, stakeholders, clients on various projects for smooth transition of the projects and quality delivery by conducting appropriate meetings.
  • Manage multiple projects ranging from simple to complex while working with cross-functional team members throughout the cycle of the projects.
  • Manage the implementation program and related country projects end-to-end including EY’s standard global tool set and other client related and required technology components from discovery, requirements gathering, global design, testing and deployment before the testing phase of in-country payroll testing and processing.
  • Act as a first level mentor for team members to guide & support during the training period. Proactively participate & conduct internal trainings.
  • Support business development and sales activities globally from an implementation perspective.

Skills and attributes for success

  • End-to-end Payroll knowledge is a must. Thorough understanding of various activities involved in Payroll.
  • Knowledge of payroll interfaces, implementation methodologies, data flows, technical aspects, accounting.
  • Understanding of multi-country Payroll implementations in a shared service environment as well as in carve-out situations.

To qualify for the role you must have

Full time employment, Monday– Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field and 5 years of related work experience. Employer will accept an additional 2 years of experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field and 4 years of related work experience.Must have 4 years of experience providing SAP consulting services (including strategy, design, configuration, and implementation) within a professional services firm.Must have 4 years of hands-on technical experience with the following SAP modules: FI/CO.Must have 3 years of experience in one of the following:
- S4/HANA; or
- any combination of S4/HANA and ERP.Must have 2 full lifecycle SAP FI/CO implementations while employed with a professional services firm, from planning, to configuration, to go-live.Must have 3 years of experience creating and leading SAP FI/CO workshops for external clients.Must have 2 years of professional experience in designing from scratch and presenting client-facing PowerPoint presentations.Must have 4 years of experience gathering requirements and working with offshore team member(s) and onsite process architects for coordination and day-to-day delivery of projects.Must have 4 years of experience in translating business requirements into end-to-end SAP-enabled solutions, including gathering requirements, solution design, building, testing and solution deployment.Must have 2 years of experience managing teams of technology professionals.Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.

Data Modeler – Senior

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Consultant Data Modeler with expertise in delivering data models that meet business requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong client management and communication skills, along with a proven track record of successful end-to-end implementations in data engineering projects.


In this role, you will design and build analytics solutions that deliver significant business value. You will collaborate with other data and analytics professionals, management, and stakeholders to ensure that technical requirements align with business needs. Your responsibilities will include creating scalable data models and solutions that support the entire data asset lifecycle.

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Data Modeler, you will play a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable insights. Your time will be spent on various responsibilities, including:

  • Lead the design and development of conceptual, logical, and physical data models for the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), adhering to Kimball dimensional methodology (dimensional modeling approach), a core skill for this role .
  • Design and implement star schemas (Fact and Dimension tables) to support enterprise analytical, Business Intelligence (BI), and reporting requirements with high performance and query efficiency.
  • Define and model Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD) , with an emphasis on SCD Type 2 , to accurately capture and preserve the full historical context of dimension attributes (e.g., customer addresses, product categories) over time.
  • Collaboratively determine the appropriate grain (atomic level of detail) for fact tables and identify measurable facts (metrics) and their relationships to the surrounding dimension tables.
  • Design highly denormalized dimension structures to reduce joins and simplify querying for end-users and analytical tools.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design appropriate data models that align with business needs.
  • Create and maintain data dictionaries and metadata repositories to ensure consistency and integrity of data models.
  • Identify and resolve data model performance issues to optimize database performance and enhance overall system functionality.
  • Manage and provide guidance to a small team of 1-3 resources
  • Document and communicate data model designs and standards to ensure understanding and compliance across the organization.
  • Create detailed source-to-target mapping (STM) documentation and data transformation specifications for ETL/ELT developers, including all SCD Type 2 logic and surrogate key generation rules.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and trends in data modelling and incorporate new techniques and methodologies into our data modelling processes.
  • Guide team on implementing data modelling techniques such as Kimball’s dimensional modeling
  • Developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support data analysis and business intelligence.
  • Utilize industry-standard data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, PowerDesigner, ER/Studio) to create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical models, and to manage version control.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A Bachelor’s degree in STEM
  • 7+ Years of hands-on Experience in data modelling
  • Strong understanding of SQL and data modelling concepts such as Kimball dimensional modeling
  • Experience working with major enterprise relational database platforms or cloud data warehouses (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing principles, ETL/ELT architecture, data quality management, and metadata management.
  • Mastery of SCD Type 2 (SCD2) implementation for preserving historical data (e.g., using surrogate keys , start/end dates, and current/active flags). Familiarity with other SCD types (Type 1, 3, 4, 6) is also expected
  • The ability to analyze complex business processes and translate abstract business requirements into precise, efficient technical data models.
  • Proficiency in data modelling tools such as Erwin / Visio or Power Designer
  • Experience in designing and implementing database structures
  • Ability to create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for data modelling and database design
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data requirements
  • Experience in performance tuning and optimization of database queries
  • Having cloud certification is an added advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge in Hospitality Domain is mandatory.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Proven ability to navigate complex issues and make informed decisions
  • Experience in supervising and guiding junior team members
  • Demonstrated participation in sales opportunities and RFP responses
  • Cloud knowledge and/or certification. Preferably Azure DP-203

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $106,900 to $176,500. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $128,400 to $200,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
