Your key responsibilities

The nature of this role means that you will be recognized as a primary day-to-day contact for our clients. That means you'll develop your knowledge by learning about current issues, profession, and business developments relevant to the client's industry, so we'll look to you to build relationships and expertise with team members.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with audit client personnel, assess audit clients' satisfaction and proactively maintain contact with the audit client throughout the year
  • Direct field work, inform supervisors of the audit engagement status and manage assurance staff performance
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor's degree an approximately 2 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 1-2 years of related work experience
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Sufficient course work to achieve CPA certification upon passing the examination
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Dedication to teamwork and leadership
  • Integrity within a processional environment
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance or higher.
  • Due to the nature of our work in the Government and Public Sector, work may be required to be completed at client, EY and/or contractor sites. Our goal is to assign professionals to projects within a commutable distance of their work location office. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs. Candidates should be willing to travel on average 25% to 30% or more in a hybrid environment.

Ideally you'll also have

  • CPA licensure in your work state
  • CGFM and/or CDFM

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $78,400 to $129,300. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $94,100 to $147,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
  • Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
