Job Purpose:

Thailand FX Operations Head will report to Asia South and JANA FX Operations Head and Thailand Country Operations Head. Our Thailand FX Operations Team encompasses of Operations unit covering large suite of Markets products including FX, FX Options, Money Market, Bonds, Derivative (Rates, Credit, Commodities). The individual will be required to proactively partner with Business, Technology, Controls and Corporate Functions partners to lead/strategize/build/deliver standardized, scalable, and sustainable operational model and service standards.

The individual will be responsible for leading a diverse set of talent comprising of ~16 people based in Bangkok.

The individual will be invested in and assist in helping to execute our Operations strategy, driving our target operating model, with a proactive People agenda, ensuring a robust control environment, enhancing service capabilities, and simplifying/ transforming platforms to build appropriate scale.

The individual will have accountability for daily supervisory risk and service oversight, ensuring that the objectives of Operations, the Business and our Clients are executed to a high standard and in full accordance with regulatory and control requirements.

Citibank Thailand is subject to extensive & evolving regulatory reporting requirements covering all asset classes. These regulatory reporting requirements are evolving in nature, and as such the candidate will be required to have extensive engagement with various in-country and overseas stake holders to ensure timely and seamless delivery of these regulatory framework and reporting requirements.

Organizational Oversight:

  • Overseeing and leading daily core operations maintaining a culture and environment where processes, risks and controls are continually monitored, and potential risks escalated on a timely basis as well as acting as a senior point of escalation
  • Developing an effective control framework that fully meets Audit, Compliance and Regulatory requirements; delivery of periodic presentations to external regulators as required
  • Ensuring the infrastructure and tools are in place to effectively manage risk and service our clients to a high standard

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Acting as key point of contact Thailand FX Operations across internal and external stakeholders and Operational Product Heads
  • Continued engagement and face off with a range of senior Business, Technology and Operations partners
  • Acting as senior Operations lead managing due diligence, regulatory visits/engagement and other governance forums
  • Supporting and partnering with the Business to facilitate a growing and expanding client base / operational offering
  • Engaging in client discussions & relationship management activities as required to support the Business

People Agenda:

  • Implementing a successful People and Engagement strategy to help attract, develop, retain and recognize a diverse and talented workforce for the site
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and cultivating a robust service and control environment
  • Engaging with and leading our People. Developing effective and diverse teams across a regional footprint
  • Coaching and mentoring our People. Ensuring effective one to one discussion. Providing direction, feedback, support, and encouragement for career development

Organisational Transformation:

  • Leading the Organization to deliver vs goals to meet the Target Operating Model
  • Leading the site to simplify, improve and measure processes by delivering enhancements to the control environment, and the customer journey with input to design techniques and digital automation
  • Supporting the delivery of strategic platform re-engineering initiatives, with conscious intent to standardize and industrial flow, reducing manual touch points and aligning tech delivery vs. business goal and wallet share optimization
  • Driving the implementation of initiatives to continuously improve STP rates and build scalable business model leveraging on innovation, using low code solutions, and challenging the status quo.
  • Active engagement and thought leadership in the development and implementation of multi-year operations strategy, in partnership with the Operational Product Heads, Business and Technology stakeholders
  • Managing budgets and headcount plans in order to meet targets

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree with a Business Administration, Finance, or other equivalent background
  • Min 10-12 years of experiences in the financial industry, including experience in leading operations team delivering operational activities, especially in-depth understanding of local regulations covering FX, Money Market, Fixed Income, Derivatives & Margining
  • Experience in delivering strategic change programs spanning multiple years in a fast paced, large global financial services firm, ideally in an operations organisation
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a leader who can positively and productively add product impact to both strategic and tactical technology
  • Strong, influential communicator who is articulate and concise, demonstrated success interacting with senior management both in the business, corporate functions as well as the Operations, Business and Technology environments
  • Strong risk management and control mindset
  • Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of information in complicated, unique and dynamic situations; draws on diverse range of internal and external sources
  • Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented
  • Demonstrated experience leading people and developing effective and diverse teams
  • Ability to establish and build trust with professionals throughout the business as a leader, advisor and business partner to the organization with a clear client orientation.
  • Strong awareness of both external and internal best practice perspectives, maintaining a balanced and fresh viewpoint.
  • Ability to conceptualize aspects of the organization’s model and its future development.

  • Sell separate account services or finance products directly to Corporate clients
  • Will help team to service clients in the buying and selling of securities, derivatives, FX and commodities
  • Help drive the team's developed strategy across specified product lines
  • Aid to achieve specified goals in both market and wallet share for the identified client franchise
  • Originate and execute meaningful and landmark transactions
  • Will independently and/or jointly work within business product to achieve the strategic growth and market share we are aiming for
  • Partner closely with other key businesses and functions to ensure proper product deployment based on understanding of client

  • Understanding of derivative products and also fixed income instruments
