Your Impact

You will be part of a world class Component Quality and Technology Group and contribute to developing, road mapping and implementing advanced thermal solutions for Cisco’s products. You will Investigate and develop innovative thermal cooling solutions for hardware systems in large scale. You will lead in the development of test plans and qualification requirements to ensure mechanical and manufacturing robustness of thermal cooling solutions (pumps, heat pipes, vapor chambers, heat sinks, cold plates etc.). You will Engage with external vendors including ODM and component vendors on design, test and production. You will Establish parameters for thermal design/testing, correlation of design/test results to model predictions. You will Collaborate with Cisco hardware design teams to develop roadmaps and risk analyses for future thermal solutions for ASIC/IC, Optics, Power and other components and systems. You will partner with several Cisco hardware design teams to improve specifications and qualification procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • 8 – 10 years of experience in design, simulation and testing of thermal solutions for electronic devices and systems
  • 8+ years of experience in electronic device and system level air cooling technologies
  • Experience in mechanical design validation and testing for electronic assemblies
  • Knowledge of integrated circuit packaging technologies (BGA, large body size Flip Chip BGA, 2.5D and 3D Packaging)
  • Component and system reliability analysis
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience in microelectronics cooling
  • Experience in developing liquid cooling solutions for electronic devices and systems.
  • Experience with Thermal Interface Material Thermal Conductivity Testing procedures
  • Experience with troubleshooting and thermal validation with data acquisition systems, airflow and environmental chambers
  • Experience with liquid cooling (cold plates, CDUs, manifolds, piping, characterization, pumps etc.) and high-power air-cooling solutions, such as heat pipes, VCs, and 3D VCs.
  • Ability to lead by influence without direct reporting chain and advise executive decision makers

Your Impact

You will engage and drive the teams working on Design for Reliability. You will build and innovate in data analytics to enable faster quality through AI/ML data models. You will plan and develop test teams to drive FA and Qualification activity.

Responsibilities

  • Plan strategic, scalable engagement with Reliability Services and Equipment providers with respect to Silicon One Product roadmap.
  • Support and work with the design team to understand and define reliability requirements of products.
  • Conduct design review and close loops with the design team to fix design issues affecting Q& R.
  • Define and ensure process for ORM is implemented and effective.
  • Engage qualification failures to RCCA using structured problem-solving methods (Cause and Effect diagrams, 8D and 5-Whys ) with a multi-functional team to diagnose, resolve, and prevent future problems. Recommend and manage failure analyses of quality failure to root cause. Work in conjunctions with teams to set up methodology and equipment for dynamic FA.
  • To improve ongoing quality, identify and minimize ATE/CFT to system test coverage test gaps. Make sure sensors are used to optimum capability at all test steps and used for system characterization and parametric testing to enable improved quality and reliability monitoring. Come up with new ML test techniques to improve RCCA and prediction.
  • Coach, mentor, and grow junior engineers to build a strong, resilient technical team
  • Clearly present technical updates, risk assessments, and progress to leadership and multi-functional stakeholders
  • Continuously assess and refine development methodologies, adopting ground breaking tools and technologies to improve efficiency
  • Work with external foundry partners, IP vendors, and strategic customers to align on expectations and resolve critical issues
  • Proactively identify project risks and implement mitigation plans throughout the product development lifecycle

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters/PHD or equivalent experience in Engineering, Semiconductor/Quality, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant field with customer-facing skills and experiences
  • 10+ years in a comparable role for semiconductor quality, Customer Quality, Reliability Engineering, Failure Analysis
  • Experience in Product & Test Engineering for the semiconductor industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of semiconductor device & package fail mechanisms/symptoms
  • Multiple roles a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on skills in Quality tools and methodologies i.e. Is/Is-Not, Fault Tree Analysis, Fishbone, 5-why, 8D, statistics and structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Strong technical problem solving and hands-on skills in quality tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent ability to manage both internal and external dynamic environments and circumstances through influence and negotiation skills to respond to challenging information and situations.
  • Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Candidate should have a solid quality / engineering background, along with good teamwork and interpersonal skills across worldwide time zones.

Your Impact
Own and build components of Common Services Platform and/or Solutions for a scalable cloud deployment scheme.
Design and implement secure and compliant architectures for enterprise systems, applications, and networks. Lead design, influence and contribute to implementation to deliver quality and timely release.
Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with industry standards (e.g., SOC 2, FedRAMP, HIPAA). Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant regulatory standards and help the organization achieve certifications and audits as required. Conduct regular security reviews and audits, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and audits for compliance. Perform risk assessments and vulnerability assessments to identify potential threats and compliance gaps. Lead the creation and delivery of security & compliance training for technical teams and non-technical personnel. Mentor engineers to produce their best work.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years' working with the design, development, and/or deployment of enterprise software with a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience building and deploying cloud native software, preferably with AWS
  • Experience working with REST APIs, Kubernetes, source control, and developing autoscaling microservices
