Purpose Statement

The QA Specialist II, APAC will perform a variety of Quality Assurance (QA) activities for the APAC countries to ensure compliance to internal procedure in accordance with Boston Scientific (BSC) Quality Systems. This includes developing, establishing, executing and maintaining quality systems and practices which meets BSC, customer and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Member of the Center of Excellence (CoE) for centralized quality activities and processes
• Executes day-to-day activities for the centralized quality processes such as document review, data verification and process tracking
• Maintain trackers, dashboards and reports to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information
• Assure the development and execution of streamlined centralized quality processes
• Support cross-country QA processes by ensuring data and documentation are aligned
• Member in improvement initiatives assigned, contributing to project activities in support of standardization and efficiency goals
• Identify process gaps, propose improvements, and contribute to standardization activities
• Provide training, guidance and support to junior team members
• Act as the point of contact on requests from affiliates, supporting and providing the required data or information
• May support the SME and Manager in maintaining high level of control of the quality processes
• Manage more complex QA tasks, including exception handling and problem-solving
• Perform collection, analysis, and trending of quality indicator data in support of management review and/or goals and objectives

Key Qualifications

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in any engineering or equivalent field
• 3 -5 years of experience in Quality, Regulatory, or other related functions, preferably in medical devices or regulated industry
• Demonstrated ability to apply conceptual knowledge to solve routine and moderately complex problems
• Familiarity with ISO 13485, GMP, or similar regulatory requirements
• Strong organizational and communication skills, ability to interact with regional stakeholders
• Exposure to project-based work or continuous improvement activities (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc) is an added advantage
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Point
• Language requirements: Proficiency in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese (written and spoken) is required to manage documentation and communication across APAC countries

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Team Member on Teams comprising representatives from Purchasing, Supplier Quality and Business Units responsible for all aspects of Supplier Management.

• Communicates effectively with all Global Internal & External Stakeholders.

• Manage changes across multiple site while developing global relationships.

• Demonstrates Technical skills in risk management and remediation.

• Responsible for supporting objectives of the Team in terms of Quality, Cost and Service.

• Supports Continuous Improvement of Quality & Quality Systems, Service Capability and Total Cost of Ownership throughout the Supply Chain.

• Supports investigation of Material Quality issues as they arise. Works with Quality, Procurement & Business Units to resolve issues and disposition product.

• Promotes the Quality System within the Supply Base.

• Works with Procurement, Supplier Quality Engineering, Receiving Inspection & Business Units to ensure that components meet established requirements.

• Ensures that adequate Corrective Actions are identified, implemented and controlled by Suppliers

• Provides guidance to other functional areas in applying Supplier Management system requirements

• Contributes to the development, maintenance and improvement of Supplier Management Policies and Procedures.

• Develops new Supply sources with Procurement Team

• Assesses and Approves Supplier Requested Process Changes

• Identifies, Supports and Leads Material Value Improvement Projects (VIP’s) throughout the Supply Chain.

Requirements :

• At least 3~5 years’ work experience in Supplier Engineering role or similar field.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

• Working knowledge and application of business and technical concepts, procedures and practices required for all aspects of Supplier Management.

• General knowledge of complimentary industry practices, techniques, and standards.

• Previous experience of managing changes from a supplier management perspective desirable.

• ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 Certification will be added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Free Trade Agreement Applications (when applicable) end to end. This covers new application, annual renewal and managing audit (when applicable)

• Responsible for accounting and closing (end to end) APAC Service Depot, including reporting, forecasting and budgeting cycles

• Responsible Lead in development and maintenance of standard cost system as needed (M-Plant / D-Plant) and ensuring compliance with Corp Guidelines and GAAP.

• Establish controls to ensure the accuracy of product costing and inventory reporting including implement procedures and policy, compliance to company quality system and corporate Accounting processes.

• Provide on-going support to Operations/Distribution team in such areas as "actual v budget" analysis

• Provide on-going support to the Finance department as required.

• Assists Cost Accounting Manager in special financial analysis / project support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree holder in accounting. ( This is a must)

• Qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferable.

• Minimum 5 years Cost Accounting Experience with a multi-national company.

• A background in Medical device, biotech, pharmaceutical or similar would be a benefit by not required.

• SAP knowledge an advantage, ERP knowledge required

• Strong system skills ideal excel, Hyperion, BW.

• Demonstrates basic technical expertise on process/product technologies to support design, optimization, validation and troubleshooting of those technologies.
• Under supervisory direction, provides input to Equipment engineering or external equipment/tooling or material vendors in the selection, design & development of new (or upgrades to existing) equipment, tooling and materials.

Job Requirements:

• Candidate required to process at least Bachelor in any engineering or related.
• At least 2 years of working experience in manufacturing.

  3. Has experience in sustaining and production working environments.
