Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain data management documentation and guidelines in accordance with Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Provide subject matter expertise to project team members throughout all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain clinical data management systems, including EDC platforms such as Medidata Rave
  • Provide support during internal and external audits and inspections
  • Collaborate with Data Managers, study teams, vendors, and site staff to formulate data transfer plans for secondary data sources (e.g., lab data, site data)
  • Batch import agreed-upon data sources into the EDC system
  • Program, validate, and maintain Medidata Rave EDC clinical trial databases in accordance with company standards
  • Create EDC design specifications, including data dictionaries, event definitions, electronic consent, branching logic, edit checks, advanced query rules, calculated fields, and dynamic rules
  • Collaborate with Data Managers and study teams to design databases using global eCRF libraries
  • Configure and optimize multiple patient user interfaces for various modes of data collection (eCOA, EDC)
  • Conduct and manage Rave EDC migration activities
  • Develop test scripts and coordinate EDC user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Deploy new or updated EDC databases into production environments
  • Support mapping of EDC databases to the company’s enterprise data warehouse
  • Drive continuous improvement by developing and implementing EDC design standards
  • Contribute to the development and revision of department SOPs and maintain compliance with corporate and study-specific training requirements
  • Provide input into the maintenance of quality systems and regulatory compliance
  • Analyze protocols to identify, define, and map required data elements that align with protocol objectives, endpoints, and regulatory requirements while ensuring operational feasibility and data quality.
  • (Preferred) Leverage experience with Medidata Custom Functions (C#/SQL)
  • Mentor and coaching junior DMs including onboarding support

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or computer science discipline
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience managing / designing clinical studies in a data management role (Device, Pharma, or Biotech)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency with electronic data capture (EDC) systems, particularly Medidata Rave
  • Experience with Medidata Custom Functions (C# / SQL)
  • Knowledge of enterprise data warehouse integration and data migration best practices

About the role:

The Principal Strategic Sourcing Specialist at Boston Scientific is responsible for developing and executing optimal category & sourcing strategies for finished medical devices. Responsibilities

  • Manages strategic supplier relationships in line with the Category Strategy and understands the strategic differentiators for each supplier.
  • Define, build, and plan alignment on Category Strategy for assigned category.
  • Gathers Market Intelligence and trends for the Category and Sub-Categories
  • Identifies risks within the category and works closely with stakeholders to eliminate or take mitigating actions for strategic risks.
  • Drives Supplier strategic activities and develops Supplier capability roadmaps as part of the Category Strategy by collaborating with Supplier Engineering, Supplier Quality and other key stakeholders.
  • Promotes and works towards balanced continuous (year-on-year) value improvement for all aspects of quality, service, and cost with assigned suppliers. Manages supplier performance and identifies Value Improvement Programs to improve TCO accordingly.

About the role:

The Principal Strategic Sourcing Specialist at Boston Scientific is responsible for developing and executing optimal category & sourcing strategies for finished medical devices. Establish & enhance supplier relationships to drive sourcing & supplier initiatives to meet or exceed product quality, service & deliver sustainable cost reductions, whilst reducing or mitigating risk in the Supply Chain. Responsible for collaborating with internal stakeholders and aligning on optimal sourcing strategies to develop and implement one common category strategy for the assigned category. Responsible for developing a supplier database that identifies and categorizes potential suppliers by category and region to increase the value proposition and reduce TCO.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic influence while building value-add relationships with engaged finished good suppliers to increase sourcing efficiency.
  • Manages strategic supplier relationships in line with the Category Strategy and understands the strategic differentiators for each supplier.
  • Define, build, and plan alignment on Category Strategy for assigned category.
  • Gathers Market Intelligence and trends for the Category and Sub-Categories
  • Identifies risks within the category and works closely with stakeholders to eliminate or take mitigating actions for strategic risks.
  • Drives Supplier strategic activities and develops Supplier capability roadmaps as part of the Category Strategy by collaborating with Supplier Engineering, Supplier Quality and other key stakeholders.
  • Promotes and works towards balanced continuous (year-on-year) value improvement for all aspects of quality, service, and cost with assigned suppliers. Manages supplier performance and identifies Value Improvement Programs to improve TCO accordingly.
  • Ensures optimal balance between collaborative engagement and competitive pressure to ensure maximum value is realized.
  • Negotiates value improvements and manages supplier contracts.
  • Provide strategic influence with internal stakeholders.
  • Responsible for arranging and executing monthly and quarterly supplier performance reviews with key suppliers.
  • Owns annual budget process for assigned suppliers as well as crisis or systematic issue resolution.
  • Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC’s Quality Policy, Quality System, and the appropriate regulations for the area they support.
  • Build alignment between business needs and market dynamics.
  • Identifies insourcing and outsourcing opportunities.
  • Establish early involvement to achieve development performance goals, support project timelines, and manage product cost.
  • Leads R&D communications related to the Category and facilitates the identification and evaluation of new materials or technologies to cover current and potential future BSC requirements.
  • Identifies all suitable suppliers per category and region per sample RFQ and develops comprehensive supplier knowledge & database.
  • Works closely with and engages on proactive information sharing with other Global Sourcing Team Members to optimize supply base.
  • Develops Should-Cost Models for major sub-categories.

Key Skills & Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years Strategic Procurement (Sourcing) and Supplier Relationship Management
  • Leadershipand influcening skills
  • Proven quantitative abilities e.g., cost modeling, data analysis
  • Experience managing supplier contracts and negotiating value improvements
  • Excellent communication (in English) and collaboration skills
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, travel typically does not occur over weekend

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong experience in developing immature suppliers
  • Understanding about diversified manufacutring technologies and processes
  • OEM, Finish Goods sourcing experience

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide subject matter expertise to project team members throughout all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain clinical data management systems, including EDC platforms such as Medidata Rave
  • Provide support during internal and external audits and inspections
  • Collaborate with Data Managers, study teams, vendors, and site staff to formulate data transfer plans for secondary data sources (e.g., lab data, site data)
  • Batch import agreed-upon data sources into the EDC system
  • Program, validate, and maintain Medidata Rave EDC clinical trial databases in accordance with company standards
  • Create EDC design specifications, including data dictionaries, event definitions, electronic consent, branching logic, edit checks, advanced query rules, calculated fields, and dynamic rules
  • Collaborate with Data Managers and study teams to design databases using global eCRF libraries
  • Configure and optimize multiple patient user interfaces for various modes of data collection (eCOA, EDC)
  • Conduct and manage Rave EDC migration activities
  • Develop test scripts and coordinate EDC user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Deploy new or updated EDC databases into production environments
  • Support mapping of EDC databases to the company’s enterprise data warehouse
  • Drive continuous improvement by developing and implementing EDC design standards
  • Contribute to the development and revision of department SOPs and maintain compliance with corporate and study-specific training requirements
  • Provide input into the maintenance of quality systems and regulatory compliance
  • Analyze protocols to identify, define, and map required data elements that align with protocol objectives, endpoints, and regulatory requirements while ensuring operational feasibility and data quality.
  • (Preferred) Leverage experience with Medidata Custom Functions (C#/SQL)
  • Mentor and coaching junior DMs including onboarding support

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or computer science discipline
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience managing / designing clinical studies in a data management role (Device, Pharma, or Biotech)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency with electronic data capture (EDC) systems, particularly Medidata Rave
  • Experience with Medidata Custom Functions (C# / SQL)
  • Knowledge of enterprise data warehouse integration and data migration best practices
