Role Description

As a Financial Systems Risk Officer, you safeguard the quality of our IT processes and controls, aligned with our risk appetite. You partner with cross‑brand stakeholders across functions, balancing a helicopter view with hands‑on detail to understand processes and provide precise guidance.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties
  • Partner with Financial Systems and the wider business to design and implement IT controls that strengthen the control environment, mitigate risks, and enable business objectives; embed Risk & Control in projects/initiatives; and monitor control performance for timely, effective execution.

  • Lead scheduled and ad‑hoc risk assessments to identify risks and control gaps; recommend improvements; design and implement controls.

  • Drive timely remediation and mitigation of deficiencies.

  • Standardize and maintain risk management processes and control documentation (flowcharts, process narratives, RCMs, SoD matrices), and deliver targeted training on internal controls and compliance.

  • Support ongoing regulatory compliance (SOx, EBA, GDPR, NIS2, etc.); coordinate annual (SOx) audits to closure and manage stakeholders (Internal/External Audit and SOx team).

Qualifications & Skills
  • 5-8 years of previous work experience in business analysis, IT auditing, corporate governance, risk management or internal controls as the first line of defense

  • Experience in IT auditing and / or risk management, corporate governance, internal controls within SAP environments such as S/4HANA, ECC, GRC, BTP, PCE

  • Experience in GRC tooling and governance regarding User Access Management, SoD monitoring and Emergency Access Management

  • Thorough understanding of internal controls (e.g. SOX-audits, highly regulated financial environments) and experience in applying them in various business areas/functions

  • Experience in AI and Process Automation, finance processes and controls, payments & e-money regulations is a plus

  • Strong communication, relationship building skills, problem solving and action oriented mindset

Responsibilities:

This role will be the global functional and technical financial systems leader and reports to Metehan Soysal VP of Financial Systems at Booking and VP of Enterprise Applications at Booking Holdings.   • Organizational Leadership: Leads a global organization of 180 employees across multiple tracks, ensuring effective team performance, development, and succession planning.

  • Execution and Delivery: Manages the end-to-end delivery, demand, and incident resolution for the assigned tracks, ensuring the successful execution of critical business initiatives and maintaining high system availability, in line with company objectives and priorities.

  • Stakeholder Management: Manages relationships with senior executives/leaders across Finance and FinTech through frequent strategic alignment and persuasion, in order to collectively define and execute the vision for the company's finance & payment functions, as well as enterprise applications.

Role Description:

The Connectivity Partner Growth Lead is a key role within the Connectivity Ecosystem track, part of the ABU Commercial Growth division.

This role owns a strategically important business area and is responsible for creating and managing scalable, self-service initiatives that enable our technology providers and connected accommodations to grow. You will drive their success across all lifecycle stages and foster a thriving, successful partnership.

As the Partner Growth Lead, you will be accountable for defining the annual strategy and go-to-market roadmap for key business development initiatives across different partner segments. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Setting yearly objectives and defining success metrics.

  • Developing and launching new commercial & educational initiatives for partners.

  • Managing partner investment funds and marketing campaigns.

  • Ensuring the successful achievement of all defined goals.

A primary objective for this role is to elevate the quality and scale of our API integrations with technology providers. You will champion our vision of creating a "Seamless Experience" for our mutual accommodation partners. To achieve this, you will be responsible for the end-to-end strategy that ensures our partners are made aware of, educated on, activated with, and incentivized to build and maintain all the integrations we consider foundational to this experience.

Role Qualifications and Requirements

  • The role is user-focused, keeps all our different connectivity customers (providers) at the heart of everything we do in a complex technology ecosystem

  • Strong interpersonal skills - a strong network of people is needed and to drive trust in order to succeed together and achieve own goals

  • Experience in heavy stakeholder management environments - The role manages a wide variety of stakeholders within different crafts like tech, design, product, marketing, legal, technical support and sales

  • Technology background with a focus on connectivity, APIs, cloud based models or Internet of Things - The role understands how our technology solutions and our partners software works, and ideates on new technology changes that can improve our partnership and advise our technology partners about improving their systems

  • Strong leadership and communication skills - Ability to lead business impactful conversations with our connectivity partners on a C-level

  • Strong background in data testing and proven analytical skills - Defines hypotheses, spots new opportunities and proves with new programme products/services incremental business with partners

  • Experience in the industry of B2B technology partnerships

  • Strategic thinking - balancing long-term vision with short- and medium-term goals

  • Strong change and project management skills - drives change in an agile project management / product development environment - Manages proposed changes and development, able to influence to get support from other teams and lead product related discussions with both internal teams & our technology partners

  • Strong work ethic; proactive, flexible and capable of working independently

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Solution oriented and result driven

As a Financial Systems Risk Officer, you safeguard the quality of our IT processes and controls, aligned with our risk appetite. You partner with cross‑brand stakeholders across functions, balancing a helicopter view with hands‑on detail to understand processes and provide precise guidance.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties
  • Partner with Financial Systems and the wider business to design and implement IT controls that strengthen the control environment, mitigate risks, and enable business objectives; embed Risk & Control in projects/initiatives; and monitor control performance for timely, effective execution.

  • Lead scheduled and ad‑hoc risk assessments to identify risks and control gaps; recommend improvements; design and implement controls.

  • Drive timely remediation and mitigation of deficiencies.

  • Standardize and maintain risk management processes and control documentation (flowcharts, process narratives, RCMs, SoD matrices), and deliver targeted training on internal controls and compliance.

  • Support ongoing regulatory compliance (SOx, EBA, GDPR, NIS2, etc.); coordinate annual (SOx) audits to closure and manage stakeholders (Internal/External Audit and SOx team).

Qualifications & Skills
  • 5-8 years of previous work experience in business analysis, IT auditing, corporate governance, risk management or internal controls as the first line of defense

  • Experience in IT auditing and / or risk management, corporate governance, internal controls within SAP environments such as S/4HANA, ECC, GRC, BTP, PCE

  • Experience in GRC tooling and governance regarding User Access Management, SoD monitoring and Emergency Access Management

  • Thorough understanding of internal controls (e.g. SOX-audits, highly regulated financial environments) and experience in applying them in various business areas/functions

  • Experience in AI and Process Automation, finance processes and controls, payments & e-money regulations is a plus

  • Strong communication, relationship building skills, problem solving and action oriented mindset
