GCIB Credit is responsible for analysing and delivering credit underwriting debt financing solutions and derivative strategies for medium and large corporate clients of GCIB & Global Markets (GM). GCIB includes Corporate Banking and Investment Banking and GM includes Sales & Trading. The group provides services to middle-market and large corporations, government entities and institutional investors. Services including mergers and acquisition advice, equity and debt capital raising, corporate lending, sales and trading in fixed income, commodities, currency and equities, risk management, research, and liquidity and payments management.

Responsibilities

  • Perform financial and credit analysis, risk rating analysis ensuring adherence to prevailing credit policy and procedures for an assigned portfolio.

  • Independently assess credit worthiness, perform intensive qualitative and quantitative due diligence of prospective borrowers and/or trading counterparties and establish appropriate terms and conditions to mitigate risk.

  • Structuring transactions, underwriting and negotiating credit documentation designed to meet both client and investor needs including credit agreements, amendments, derivative documentation.

  • Ensuring granularity of the portfolio with specific reference to targets for net country/credit capital, legally binding commitments, total exposure and asset quality.

  • Establish appropriate internal risk ratings for clients and implement accurate adjustments throughout the client’s credit life cycle.

  • Ensuring that the portfolio and credit management process are at all times rated "satisfactory" by internal auditors, the Credit Review group and external Regulators.

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the product spectrum and portfolio at the client, industry, and macro level to assess risk and craft value added solutions balancing risk.

  • Develop, maintain, and manage internal relationships with business partners including Corporate and Investment Bankers, Sales & Trading, Risk Management, Syndications, and Legal.

  • Participate in strategic projects to support business goals.

  • Providing provide appropriate coaching and development to junior teammates.

What we are looking for

  • BA/BSc degree (or equivalent); Finance, Accounting or Economics would be beneficial.

  • Credit risk experience at a major international financial institution, analysing, assessing companies and knowledge of EMEA and specific industry sectors, structuring transactions and documentation.

  • Credit skills, risk judgment and broader risk awareness and understanding of the wider business, market and regulatory environment in which the bank operates, and how that impacts client and portfolio’s credit profile and ability to defend rigorously a fact-based point of view.

  • Sound product/technical, documentation and process knowledge across lending, trade finance and derivative (FX, rates, commodities and equities) products.

  • Acting as an agent of change/improvement, influencing corporate policy/procedure and projecting a positive strategic vision.

  • Commercial mindset to support value added discussions with effective interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Fluency with use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel; including ability to prepare and/or review company specific financial models in Excel.

  • Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise and work under pressure, drive deal selection, negotiate solutions, strong transaction management process, and proactively manage credit risks.

  • Understanding of credit risk sensitivities in the portfolio and risk drivers of the exposures.

This role is responsible for executing second line of defence compliance and operational risk oversight for the Front Line Unit. Responsibilities:

Provide additional support to other EMEA GCIB coverage areas as required.

  • Provide dedicated, timely guidance on the relevant Laws, Rules and Regulations (‘LRR’) applicable to the entity and its businesses including risk and impact assessments on new product initiatives, specific transactions, ad hoc queries, routine risk assessment processes such as the RCSA etc.

  • Be proficient in assessing risks, associated controls and their effectiveness, while driving compliance with applicable LRRs and regulatory guidelines, adhering to policies, and developing reporting and documentation.

  • Engage in activities to provide support to the GCOR function to provide independent 2nd line oversight of Front Line Unit ownership and management of Compliance and Operational risks in alignment with the Compliance and Operational Risk Management Program and Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Monitor the regulatory environment to identify regulatory changes applicable to area(s) of coverage, and execute Targeted Assessments aligned to relevant themes or trends.

  • Ensure that Monitoring & Testing is conducted in line with GCOR programme requirements and on a timely basis with appropriate escalation and resolution of any issues or matters arising.

  • Assist in identifying and escalating control deficiencies or issues that arise and drive actions to address the root causes that lead to compliance or operational risk issues and/or losses.

  • Assist in the development of independent risk management reporting for respective area(s) of coverage as input into management routines.

  • As a member of the BofA Europe – Paris Branch Local Management Team (LMT) be accountable for reporting on and escalating Paris Branch Compliance & Op Risk matters

  • Build effective working relationships with colleagues including Regional LoB Compliance & Operational Risk, EU Country Compliance & Operational Risk, GFCC, the Control Room, other Lines of Business, and across regions

  • Assist in responding to regulatory inquiries as well as other audits and examinations.

  • Review and challenge relevant processes and risks, including those defined in Single Process Inventory (SPI).

This role reports functionally to the International EFR Executive with a local reporting line into the Head of Legal Entity EFR for the Paris office.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted partner with local risk teams, global EFR teammates and local 1st & 2nd line teams.
  • Support the effective review and challenge of business and CFO activities in relation to financial risk generation and control.
  • You will be responsible for entity specific metrics (metric population, limit calibration, ongoing monitoring). Escalate to senior stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Contribute to local working groups and governance committees and act as a risk subject matter specialist for the 3 risk types.
  • Contribute to regulatory deliverables (ICAAP, ILAAP, recovery plans, Funding and Liquidity Management Strategy) as appropriate, and provide a Risk POV to local governance bodies.
  • Assist with Liquidity and IRR policies refreshes and support presentation to the Board. Also assist in enforcing the requirements in said policies.
  • Contribute to various local and global activities and communications, including weekly updates, team achievements, periodic reporting and select deep-dives

What we are looking for:

  • The successful candidate will need to have a strong teamwork mindset to be able to effectively support the team across a broad range of financial topics.
  • You will have a natural curiosity and desire to learn and grow your financial skill set in a risk management context within a Trading environment. This will require learning agility to accurately interpret, understand and evaluate a variety of risks across multiple risk types and interconnectivity between risk types
  • You will have effective technical and analytical skills (financial data and written reports).
  • Previous experience of Treasury, Finance / Accounting or Risk Management desirable but given the junior nature of the role, relevant parallel experience will be considered.
  • Talks and writes in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience.
  • You will be comfortable multi-tasking across a broad range of topics and conscious of the importance of adhering to deadlines, often on sensitive regulatory deliverables.
  • English required, French optional.
  • Communication- Can articulately paint pictures & visions of possibilities and likelihoods. Ability to communicate with SMEs as well.

GCIB Credit is responsible for analysing and delivering credit underwriting debt financing solutions and derivative strategies for medium and large corporate clients of GCIB & Global Markets (GM). GCIB includes Corporate Banking and Investment Banking and GM includes Sales & Trading. The group provides services to middle-market and large corporations, government entities and institutional investors. Services including mergers and acquisition advice, equity and debt capital raising, corporate lending, sales and trading in fixed income, commodities, currency and equities, risk management, research, and liquidity and payments management.

Responsibilities

  • Perform financial and credit analysis, risk rating analysis ensuring adherence to prevailing credit policy and procedures for an assigned portfolio.

  • Independently assess credit worthiness, perform intensive qualitative and quantitative due diligence of prospective borrowers and/or trading counterparties and establish appropriate terms and conditions to mitigate risk.

  • Structuring transactions, underwriting and negotiating credit documentation designed to meet both client and investor needs including credit agreements, amendments, derivative documentation.

  • Ensuring granularity of the portfolio with specific reference to targets for net country/credit capital, legally binding commitments, total exposure and asset quality.

  • Establish appropriate internal risk ratings for clients and implement accurate adjustments throughout the client’s credit life cycle.

  • Ensuring that the portfolio and credit management process are at all times rated "satisfactory" by internal auditors, the Credit Review group and external Regulators.

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the product spectrum and portfolio at the client, industry, and macro level to assess risk and craft value added solutions balancing risk.

  • Develop, maintain, and manage internal relationships with business partners including Corporate and Investment Bankers, Sales & Trading, Risk Management, Syndications, and Legal.

  • Participate in strategic projects to support business goals.

  • Providing provide appropriate coaching and development to junior teammates.

What we are looking for

  • BA/BSc degree (or equivalent); Finance, Accounting or Economics would be beneficial.

  • Credit risk experience at a major international financial institution, analysing, assessing companies and knowledge of EMEA and specific industry sectors, structuring transactions and documentation.

  • Credit skills, risk judgment and broader risk awareness and understanding of the wider business, market and regulatory environment in which the bank operates, and how that impacts client and portfolio’s credit profile and ability to defend rigorously a fact-based point of view.

  • Sound product/technical, documentation and process knowledge across lending, trade finance and derivative (FX, rates, commodities and equities) products.

  • Acting as an agent of change/improvement, influencing corporate policy/procedure and projecting a positive strategic vision.

  • Commercial mindset to support value added discussions with effective interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Fluency with use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel; including ability to prepare and/or review company specific financial models in Excel.

  • Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise and work under pressure, drive deal selection, negotiate solutions, strong transaction management process, and proactively manage credit risks.

  • Understanding of credit risk sensitivities in the portfolio and risk drivers of the exposures.

  • Keen interest in finance, macroeconomic and geopolitical issues.

  • Fluency in English required. Additionally, other European language skills highly beneficial.
