  • Review and adhere to credit approvals, legal credit agreements, corporate documents and policies and procedures to timely onboard, update and maintain credit facilities with accurate data integrity in the system of record

  • Support loan accounting entries and related calculations; commitment, loan, interest, and fee records; intra-day wire account reconciliation; credit reporting

  • Review and adhere to credit portfolio legal documentation and act in a consultative manner on standard servicing requirements

  • Support in-line quality assurance/test of control reviews and adherence to process risk control standards

  • Acts as subject matter expert on regional and global projects, initiatives, audits requirements and overall unit coverage

Qualifications

  • University degree with preference to finance or math

  • Corporate/Commercial banking experience

Reporting to the Manager, Credit Risk Analysis & Reporting, the Risk Analyst is responsible for a broad array of risk reporting and analysis, including actively monitoring credit risk policy limits and regulatory reporting.This opportunity requires direct interaction with stakeholders across the organization, a high degree of initiative, and strong relationship management, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Key accountabilities include:

  • Prepare credit risk reports that monitors various internal policy limits and perform variance analysis for management review.
  • Participate in various enterprise-wide risk initiatives, including both internal data enhancement and external regulatory reporting.
  • Become a subject matter for credit risk related activities covering both TD Securities and Canadian Commercial portfolios.
  • Build knowledge on wholesale and commercial credits and understand different type of risk exposure.
  • Respond to ad-hoc request accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Work collaboratively and develop strong relationships across the Enterprise, including Risk Management, Finance, Capital/Treasury, and the Businesses

Job Requirements

  • Analytic thinker: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify key trends/drivers and an eye for detail. Ability to think outside the box and effectively challenge the status quo, with a key eye for process improvement.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex analyses into easily consumable key messages appropriate for Executives.

  • Knowledge: Understanding of credit risk that arise from different product types. Proficient in Microsoft Offices.

The following would be considered an asset:

  • Experience using Tableau and Alteryx.
  • Experience with credit risk reporting.
  • Prior experience with TD internal risk data systems (CAIRO, CARMA, LOANIQ, IRIS, etc.)

Additional Information

  • Post-Secondary degree in a more quantitative discipline, along with a CFA/FRM/CPA or similar designation is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of analytical experience, including solid background working with data and conducting analysis.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in market risk management.

Skills:

Job Description:

Reporting to the Credit Manager, Risk Monitoring & Reporting the role is accountable for re-adjudicating existing merchant accounts that alert on monitoring reports as well as ad-hoc analysis to support compliance with Payment Card Networks ('PCN') and enterprise regulations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure timely re-adjudication of merchant accounts alerting on monitoring reports. Reviews to be completed in accordance with the assigned discretionary limits and applicable credit policies.
  • Use sound credit judgment to assess, analyze and present well-written, logical Merchant Risk Reviews under various monitoring programs. This involves identifying key merchant risks and contingent exposure and may involve financial statement analysis.
  • Collaborate with Fraud Operations team to ensure reviews under the interaction model are completed in a timely manner and any concerns are promptly escalated.
  • Identify operational issues and proactively recommend improvements and solutions to resolve issues.
  • Provide statistical data and other reports to the Credit Manager and assist with the completion of the monthly reports within the required timeframes.
  • Complete any ad-hoc analysis requests efficiently to ensure PCN and other regulatory compliance requirements are met and escalate any concerns to management.
  • Engage in direct customer calls to obtain additional information or to communicate Credit team decisions.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience in adjudication / credit underwriting
  • A solid knowledge of KYC and due diligence requirements
  • Strong risk assessment skills and outside-the-box thinking to identify and understand all potential risks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid analytical skills and business intelligence
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work independently
  • Basic knowledge of financial statement analysis
  • High proficiency in Excel and Word. Additional data query & visualization skills (SQL, Tableau etc.) would be an asset
  • Previous industry experience or a detailed understanding of the payment processing dynamics would be an asset
  • Previous Fraud experience would be an asset
