You will specify and develop new hardware verification testbenches for future generation hardware IP. You will improve existing testbenches to increase performance, quality and efficiency. You will also identify areas for improvement in processes and methodologies, then implement those changes to advance our best-practises and state of the art for hardware verification.

The responsibilities of a member of the Verification team are:

• Reviewing and assessing proposed design changes from a verification complexity point of view
• Develop and own verification plans for IP blocks based on architecture and design specifications.
• Define testbenches, coverage goals, and verification environments using industry-standard methodologies
• Investigating and scripting new verification flows and optimising existing ones
• Developing methodology and deploying within the group and having full ownership of verification closure and mentoring other members of the team.
• Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, and software teams to define verification scope and goals.
• Close collaboration with other Arm engineering teams leading to high quality IP that works well in a complete system.

• You can demonstrate experience in working with constrained-random verification including ownership of a suitably complex verification environment.
• Experience of architecting and implementing functional verification environments for complex IP.
• Experience developing re-usable and scalable code whilst having good knowledge of UVM.
• Strong scripting skills – being able to develop scripting to support new flows.
• Proven software engineering skills including understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
• You are familiar with the tools and processes for developing testbenches and finishing all aspects of the verification process.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
• Dedicated with a focused approach to problem analysis and solving.
• Strong experience in planning and estimation.

• Team leadership and mentoring experience
• Multiprocessing microarchitecture experience including knowledge of cache coherence and bus protocols (e.g. AMBA5 CHI, AMBA4 ACE or AXI)
• Experience in Formal Verification testbenches is a plus.

Applications Engineering is a multifaceted, deeply technical role, where you will not only use your expertise but your social skills to support our partners through their technical challenges. This role is mostly focusing on Arm IP and Subsystem products that target the Automotive markets.

Working with customers means that you will need to understand what they want to achieve, analyze their requests and issues and provide a solution that moves them forward. As your the experience grows, you will develop and present training courses on our products to customer development teams, and also provide reviews and advice on their system designs. You may be required to mentor and guide other team members, passing on your deep experience and expertise to assist with developing best working practice within the group.

You will collaborate with engineering teams and new product planning teams, acting as the voice of the customer to motivate changes which improve our products and help our partners adopt new technology. You will also raise defects against products, review documentation and periodically write application notes, example source code and knowledge base articles.

• Provide fast and accurate technical answers to customer questions
• Develop and deliver technical training corses on IP systems, both onsite and remotely

• Deep experience designing or verifing ASICs and other digitial systems
• Proven understanding of SoC architecture and design principles, especially for Automotive applications

• Arm CPU Architecture and AMBA bus protocols
• High speed I/O : PCIe, CXL, CCIX
• Experience with failure modes, effects, and diagnostic analysis (FMEDA) or dependent failure analysis (DFA) would be a plus.
• Understanding of Function Safety (FuSa) knowledges and processes, including knowledges of ISO 26262 or IEC 61508.
• Experience of SoC design for FuSa products is also a plus.

• Ensure the safety of a system or product by identifying potential failures, analyzing risks, and defining safety mitigations throughout the product development lifecycle, adhering to relevant safety standards like ISO 26262 (for automotive) or IEC 61508 (for industrial applications).
• Contribute to the safety management activities such as Safety Plan, Safety Case, and the definition and derivation of safety requirement throughout the lifecycle. You will perform safety analysis such as DFMEA, DFA and FTA to support the safety architecture definition.
• Work closely with design teams to implement safety features and validate their efficiency, ensuring the system functions within acceptable safety limits even in case of failures.

• Extensive knowledge of safety, quality, and cybersecurity standards such as ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434, IEC 61508, ASPICE, or similar, and their application across the semiconductor lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience with safety analysis techniques such as FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), FTA (Fault Tree Analysis), and DFA (Design Failure Analysis). Able to perform risk assessments and fault tree analysis based on system architecture.
