Program Overview

Through the 30-month Supply Chain Undergraduate Rotational Development Program, you will rotate through positions in Purchasing, Sourcing, and Commodity Management over the course of 18 months, then apply your learnings to a “final placement” role for an additional 12 months. In the program, participants develop and refine the technical and business skills required to be successful in the Supply Chain organization. You will experience a blended learning environment which includes mentorship, job shadowing, and expanded networking opportunities with leaders and within our Employee Resource Groups such as the Young Professionals Network (YPN). Participants will have the opportunity to gain high level visibility and create significant impact within a global manufacturing organization.

Position Details

During a series of rotations, participants will take on full-time responsibility of their functional role, which includes:

  • Issuing RFQs, analyzing proposals, negotiating prices, executing orders, and ensuring delivery in support of volume manufacturing requirements.
  • Developing strategies to procure components at the lowest cost consistent with consideration of quality, reliability of source, and urgency of need.
  • Assisting with development, alignment, and implementation of commodity strategies across Applied Business Units.
  • Driving resolution to systematic supply chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery or lead-time.
  • Assisting in developing and presenting high-level cost reduction opportunities.
  • Presenting sourcing, cost, lead time reduction, capacity initiatives to key stakeholders.
  • Forecasting and communicating engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers.
  • Providing critical input to outsourcing decisions by performing Make vs. Buy analysis.

Requirements

  • Graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Distribution, Industrial Engineering, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics or related field
  • Good academic standing with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
  • Proficiency in developing effective executive reports and presentations

Global Fixed Assets Process Owner

Preferred Background

:
BS in Accounting and CPA. 7-10 years direct accounting experience with General Ledger and Sub-ledger accounting. Strong exposure to fixed assets lifecycle management.

SAP ECC, w/Asset Accounting Module is a plus; LeaseCalcs, BlackLine, Microsoft Office; Tableau;

Fixed Asset Administration

  • Oversee & own the management of the fixed asset accounting process, globally .
  • Lead team of 4-6 contract personnel based in Bangalore, India, who execute transactions & review Capital Approval Requests for required information
  • Understand and apply corporate policy related to fixed assets. Be the “voice” of Fixed Asset Policy;
  • Manage and maintain the fixed assets subledger and related general ledger activity.
  • Understand and collaborate closely with Tax on CHIPs credits and their application to assets on books;
  • Understand government incentives programs such as Cal Competes and other capital driven subjects and effect on assets;
  • Devise, document and oversee the development of standard processes, procedures and tools (automation). Partner with and influence other areas of Finance and Operations to follow said process and procedures.
  • Monitor lifecycle events from project scoping and approval to asset retirement.
  • Advise business units regarding fixed asset matters and issues.
  • Provide monthly fixed assets and capital spending reporting as required by Global Accounting; support Balance sheet review requirements.
  • Support Tax and other business units or departments in periodic reporting needs and initiatives impacting fixed assets & projects.
  • Research and respond to fixed asset queries from all levels within the organization.
  • Respond to requests for information from internal and external audit entities, including SOX walkthroughs.
  • Deliver training to personnel outside of fixed asset team. Maintain libraries of guides and desktop procedures.

Fixed Asset – Income Tax related

  • Review all asset additions to ensure proper tax treatment
  • Prepare quarterly asset related provision schedules
  • Prepare fixed asset related schedules for federal tax return

Lease Accounting Administration:

  • Manage Lease bots
  • Prepare Lease disclosure supporting documents
  • Update critical data in LeaseCalcs
  • Manage equipment and housing leases for Europe and Japan
  • Coordinate & support Corporate Accounting lease accounting owner

Property Tax:

  • Manages materials change control process. Meets cost objectives and resolves quality issues. Generates and publishes Key Process Indicators. Tracks total landed costs targets.
  • Works with engineering to identify preliminary critical parts, long-lead parts and inspection requirements. Assists in developing supplier and commodity road maps to engineering.
  • Actively mediates and partners with quality and engineering teams to resolve supplier quality issues for assigned product groups. Escalate issues to relevant escalation paths as needed (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Technical Program Management, Finance).
  • Use standard tools, dashboards and BKMs to assess supplier capability, overall capacity, ability to support rapid prototyping (NPI), ability to support volume manufacturing, and vertical integration (e.g. parts, cleaning, assembly capabilities) to aid in making sustainable sourcing decisions.

Requirements

  • Graduating with an MBA in Supply Chain Management coupled with technical undergraduate degree
  • Must be in good academic standing with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
  • Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) technology exposure required. Hands on experience preferred
