Description:
Responsible for developing, applying, revising, and maintaining quality standards for processing materials, solving complex quality engineering problems in creative and effective ways.- Participates in the development and implementation of Product Quality Plan (PQP) for specific commodities with SQE's at other sites.- Develops specific quality programs for each product during development and qualification stages.- Develops product specific quality plan, including participation in DVT planning, development of PVT plan and review of those plans with the selected supplier.- Evaluates and assists in the selection of suppliers for new products and for second sources of existing products- Assesses supplier's production and quality programs and participates in approval or disapproval of new suppliers.- Responsible for FAI process and monitors performance of PVT, identifying and assuring necessary corrective actions are taken. Authorizes and supervises the start-up of production at the supplier site.- Supports Supplier Quality Engineering in improving and reporting vendor processes.- Participates in cost reduction and yield improvement efforts.- Advises product designers and test designers to ensure ease of assembly and test on new and existing products.- Acts as a consultant to other engineering groups on design of experiments and the analysis of test data to determine outcome.

You will be able to partner with Cupertino engineering team to develop a new manufacturing processes and station with an innovative and creative solutions.We will provide our guidances to contract manufacturers’ engineers and partner with them to support all the build activities from the very beginning of product development (e.g. Proto, EVT, DVT and PVT) until the product end of life after mass production.You will plan, develop and implement new procedures to handle the PCBA(Printed Circuit Board Assembly) fabrication processes and quality control at contract manufacturers’ sites.Occasionally, we will be appointed as a project leader to work on various exciting and meaningful improvement projects aside from our daily responsibilities

- Possess in depth SMT soldering process knowledge, good experiences in PCBA DFM review and are familiar with process failure analysis tools and methodologies with a high level creativity and curiosity
- Good understand of PCB fabrications and component assembly&test processes.
- Familiarity with factories’ quality control system (e.g. IQC, IPQC, OQC…etc) and industry standard or spec (e.g. IPC, JDEC..etc)

Define best-in-class processes to meet all Apple design and operational requirements. Develop and document processes including all parameters, consumables and secondary operation requirements to meet defined specifications. Provide leadership at manufacturing sites during development and product production ramp, and drive engineering issues to resolution. Use data to drive process decisions, basic data analysis, DOEs, SPC, etc. Identify, research, develop, and qualify premier equipment manufacturers and suppliers. Define part tolerance and specifications by demonstrating process capability to Product Designers and Industrial Designers. Work with Global Supply Managers to define and establish supply chain requirements using selected equipment and manufacturing suppliers. Work with Manufacturing Quality Engineers to work on and close quality issues, drive yield improvement, and ship good parts to downstream supply chain nodes. Lead process development/have expertise in one of the process development areas listed below: CNC machining - Develop all CNC milling and turning processes. Scope appropriate CNC equipment to be used, develop CNC fixtures, implement touch probing, lead the reduction of cycle time, development of advanced cutters and coatings, High Speed Machining implementation, support the programming and optimization of all CNC-related activities. Own yield improvement actions and process change decisions based on SPC data analysis. Surface Finishing - Develop new processes in the area of chemical polish, chemical thinning, blasting, tumbling, mechanical polishing, wet sanding, lapping, anodizing, and PVD. Ensure that quality and yield requirements are met. Assembly - Develop all assembly processes. Includes incorporating welding, gluing/adhesives(OCA/LOCA), film lamination and mechanical fit based processes. Support qualification of equipment at suppliers, including detailed documentation of process parameters. Own yield improvement actions and process change decisions based on statistical process control (SPC) data analysis. Identify automation opportunities and justify automation projects based on automation line efficiency metrics. Glass Processing - Develop all processes for glass laser, grinding, lapping, polishing, chemical strengthening, decoration and functional coatings (with inks, and other thin film deposition techniques etc). Ensure that quality and yield requirements are met.
- BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent.
- Experience in leading process development in a high volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the selection, set-up, and validation of manufacturing equipment.
- Good English skills.
- Able to take frequent travel.
- Strong abilities and background in materials characterization with hands-on troubling (understanding of analytical tools such as SEM / TEM / EDX / FTIR / XPS etc.).
- Ability to work independently with cross-functional teams and drive towards common goals.
- Ability to present technical analysis of manufacturing capability to diverse cross-functional team.

Identify and contribute to the improvement of the factory Test processes. - Drive and support CMs in their effort to develop and deploy new Test methods, labor reduction, and automation, as well as any other promising initiatives. - Manage test process, technical issues and other test activities for Ops builds, ramp, pack out, and shipping process. - Supervise the testing process to ensure the consistency of product testing across CMs and sites. - Performs assignments in several of the following manufacturing engineering functions- Design for Testability - Provide early and ongoing manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are being tested logically and efficiently incorporating FMEA, and product design targets using the Engineering Requirements Specification (ERS). - Product Life Cycle Engineering - Works all phases of a product from concept to repeat manufacturing to end of life. Provides production support engineering concerning technically sophisticated testing methods, procedures, and failure analysis. - Test Process Engineering - Designs and develops technical test processes to improve quality and efficiency.
