The Swift Compiler Team is looking for an engineer to collaboratively design and implement new language features, improve type checking performance, and enhance the Swift developer experience through diagnostics and other compiler-driven tools. Drawing from your own experience writing code, internalizing a programming model, and working with developer tools, you will bring diverse perspectives and a desire to help solve the problems you’ve encountered in your own development work.AS A SWIFT COMPILER ENGINEER, YOU WILL:- Collaborate with teammates through in-person conversations, pull requests, and other online discussions.- Design and implement new language features and tooling improvements, documenting and iterating on your design decisions through the Swift evolution process.- Welcome constructive feedback on your changes from Swift programmers, and iteratively improve the experience of writing Swift.- Drive the testing, integration, and adoption of your changes into the development ecosystem.
- Experience with software design and programming in a statically-typed language such as (but not limited to) C++ or Swift.
- Familiarity with algorithms and data structures.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate through technical writing.
- Curiosity for understanding a programming mental model and how code works “under the hood”.
- Swift development experience is a plus, but not required.
- Prior experience working on compilers or developer tools is a plus, but not required.
- Ability and motivation to investigate and learn what you don’t know.
- Receptiveness to constructive feedback and mentorship.

Description:
This role acts as brand guardian, and is the voice of authority for Apple Retail across all customer and employee facing content. You will be responsible for copywriting, transcreating, editing and validating consumer-facing marketing content for global marketing initiatives, such as commercial and seasonal campaigns, events, keynotes, as well as internal employee communications and learning materials, people and recruitment sites, job descriptions, systems and applications. You will validate and fine-tune MT and LLM’s outputs, and help train and customize MT/AIML engines for optimal brand voice, style and accuracy. You drive quality standards through MT and vendor agencies to maintain clarity, accuracy, and the highest possible quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Extensive experience in writing, editing, proofreading, and localizing marketing communications for consumer facing, high profile brands at an advertising agency, marketing communications group, or localization/transcreation agency. Nuanced understanding of language conventions, style and usage
- Post-editing and AIML experience, and a strong interest in evolving and scaling the craft of writing and translating through combined human and machine intelligence
- Proficiency in working with future proof technologies such as MT and LLM’s to enhance translation speed and accuracy
- Undergraduate or advanced degree and 7+ years editorial/writing experience with native speaker status for Spanish (Spain)
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities. Strong written and spoken English skills for internal communication and presentation
- Exceptional attention to detail and focus in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment
- Willingness to work across multiple timezones during peak periods and for global team connections
- Familiarity with U.S. English style, Apple products, communications, technical terminology and trademark issues
- Understanding of the creative development and production process
- Leadership in quality and tone of voice guidance to agency linguists
- Experience in style guide and glossary development and maintenance
- Working knowledge of translation tools (such as WorldServer) and MT/LLM’s
- Willingness to travel to international meetings in the US or other international locations, as well as travel locally for store/vendor visits
