We are seeking an experienced Power Systems Engineer to play a critical role in designing and modeling electrical transmission and distribution infrastructure. In this position, you will be responsible for conducting technical analyses, modeling power system performance, and providing recommendations to optimize the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our power systems.As a Power Systems Specialist you will focus on assessing the medium to long-term impact of load profiles on our network. The primary objective is to identify solutions and technologies which can be utilized to address any powYou will be involved from the early planning (per-design) stages to develop, review, improve and approve power architecture typologies and you will be leading the development of protection coordination studies during the execution phases.Key job responsibilities
- Perform detailed power system studies, including load flow analysis, short-circuit analysis, and transient stability analysis, using advanced software tools
- Develop and maintain accurate models of the electrical transmission and distribution network, incorporating the latest system changes and upgrades
- Analyze system performance data to identify potential issues and bottlenecks, and propose solutions to improve system reliability and capacity- Overseeing third-party vendors to ensure quality and integration of power system studies into main projects.
- Participate in the development of technical standards, policies, and procedures for the organizationA day in the life
You will be responsible for taking designs from concept to the construction document set. - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in power system analysis and design
- Proficiency in using power system analysis software, such as ETAP, PSS®E, or DIgSILENT PowerFactory and PSCAD.
- Experience with transmission and distribution systems, generation, renewable energy and energy storage systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical data.
- Chartered Engineer (or working towards) with a recognized body
- Experience in substation design and protection system coordination
- Knowledge of renewable energy integration and distributed generation technologies
- Experience directly related to data center or mission critical facility design.
- Proficiency in programming languages, such as Python or MATLAB, for custom software development.

- Degree in Architecture and Architecture license
- 5+ years of commercial / industrial design experience with 2+ years of mission critical facilities design experience
- Working experience with MEP engineering consultants and large scale mechanical and power systems, including, vendor and consultant management skills
- Solid working proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Navis works, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite. As well as proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards including IBC, IFC, and NFPA.
- Excellent communication skills with both internal and external project partners, attention to detail, and high quality standards. As well as ability to manage multiple fast paced projects simultaneously
- Master’s degree in Architecture and 3+ years of Data Center design experience
- Drive Continuous Improvement methodologies and culture (ex: LEAN, Six Sigma or TPS)
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate the constructability of new technologies, and determine construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
