As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Analyzing system performance, identify problems, design, develop, and implement solutions
  • Extending metrics collection, create visualizations, and statisitcal data analysis to better quantify systems performance.
  • Building tooling to help identify system performance problems faster.
  • Training other Akamai engineers to identify performance issues.
  • Working with teams across the company to implement your solutions.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have advanced programming experience in C.
  • Have proficiency with Python, Bash, or Perl.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of Linux operating system internals and kernel interactions.
  • Have deep experience with complex data structures, algorithms, and optimization techniques
  • Have a thorough understanding of network protocols including IP, IPv6, TCP, UDP
  • Have a proficiency with Git version control system.

You'll maximize customers' value in Akamai with program management, strategic thinking, technical acumen, pre-sales, and thought leadership. You will move our customers' key initiatives from concept to implementation, solving problems and delivering exceptional satisfaction.

As an Engagement Manager II, you will be responsible for:

  • Owning program management and being the trusted advisor that helps customers get the most value out of solutions.
  • Architecting and managing the web performance, cloud computing and security solutions.
  • Defining an account strategy, establishing key relationships, and building and maintaining a project pipeline.
  • Leading a cross functional team and developing a culture of excellence to empower and encourage team synergy.
  • Partnering with sales and pre-sales to help expand the use of services and solutions.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 5 years of experience and a Bachelor's in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or its equivalent
  • Demonstrate experience in a customer-facing role and an understanding of the consulting process to ensure customer success
  • Have experience managing and delivering large technical customer projects successfully
  • Be knowledgeable on Devops, web development, web performance such as HTTPS, DNS
  • Have familiarity with security technologies, with basic knowledge of methods used to protect data, applications, and infrastructure
  • Be familiar with compute technologies, with basic knowledge and skills to design, implement, and manage cloud-based systems
  • Have excellent communication and presentation skills and articulate technical information in an easy to understand manner
  • Be a team player with an ability to work independently and as part of a remote team
