As a Community Engagement Intern, you are entrusted with:

  • Taking an active part in Community support, growth and engagement for your local Host Community
  • Executing local Community Programs with clear communication, efficient resource usage, and a deep focus on overall project execution.
  • Support the team in recruiting, onboarding and managing new Community Leaders
  • Growing Host representation in Host Clubs
  • Help the team provide coaching to the local Homes Community Leaders, while also remediating and replacing inactive Leaders
  • Support Community Leaders to develop and test region-specific programs that foster community connections for homes hosts at scale
  • Support Community Leaders education on all significant product changes and cascading feedback on product and policy to the relevant internal stakeholders
  • Support effective in-person and online Host Club meetups, to foster connection and growth in the Homes host community

Your expertise:

  • Current master’s student in Business, Commerce, Communication or a related field, ideally in a top business school, in your last year before graduation
  • Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken
  • A previous successful experience in community engagement, account management, or event management
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple conversations across various platforms
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passionate about Airbnb’s mission to create belonging and economic opportunity for hosts
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Google Suite, Facebook Groups is a plus
  • Work authorization for employment in France is required - visa sponsorship is unavailable.

The difference you will make:

This role is a 12 to 18 months mission - a great opportunity to use your analytical skills to generate insights, develop and execute strategic initiatives and see immediate results of your proposed improvements. You will report directly to our Host Services leader for the EMEA region.

This role is based in our Paris office (Hybrid).

A typical day:

  • Strategy: Garner a deep understanding of the state and needs of the business in France and support growth. Create & implement local strategies for Host Services in the French market that drive material impact to our bottom line.
  • Business analysis: Analyze and review performance on all aspects: quality, supply growth and availability. Influence key business decisions through data-driven recommendations and insights
  • Processes: Act as a representative of these services in France, surfacing local nuances and feedback and structuring it in a way that drives global change or improvements to the product or program functionality. When implementing local strategies, overseeing them from strategic planning phase through execution.
  • Community Management: Act as an Airbnb representative for the Host Services community, cascading key product updates and encouraging best practices among the peers across EMEA. Collaborate with Regional Managers and cross-functional partners to support supply strategy and cross-functional initiatives. Support the French team in reviewing Host communication (strategy, channels, messages) in order to improve our retention.
  • Stakeholder Management: This person will be responsible for working directly with key leaders across our Chief Business Officer Organization to ensure full alignment across initiatives. This will involve working closely with the France country manager to ensure Host Services fit into the broader strategy of the Country. In addition, this person will collaborate with leaders of our supply Team to ensure services are a meaningful driver of host growth in the country.

Your expertise:

  • Qualified candidates will have 8+ years of work experience, preferably with combined exposure to sales, business operations and project management
  • Ideally, prior experience in consulting and fast-paced environments (e.g. startups)
  • Good analytical skills and metrics understanding allowing to take data-driven decisions
  • Good understanding of digital environment and of the different growth levers and opportunities
  • Capacity to balance day-to-day responsibilities with longer-term strategic execution
  • Already experienced a target driven environment and at ease with short and mid-term challenges
  • Ability to get things done with constantly changing priorities, projects and deadlines
  • Experience building and strengthening relationships with external partners
  • Proactive self-starter able to prioritize and manage work autonomously in a fast paced environment
  • Capacity to think out of the box and to innovate
