Key Qualifications
- Minimum BS and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience implementing digital signal processing algorithms using special purpose digital signal processing HW
- Understanding of 5G and 4G 3GPP protocols
- Deep understanding of software engineering principles, and core computer science fundamentals
- Fundamental facility with C and C++, compilers, build and source code control tools
- Significant experience with memory constrained Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and concurrent programming
- Proven understanding of computer architecture with particular emphasis on the HW/SW interfaces of high speed communication subsystems
- Experience with silicon prototyping, emulation systems, and virtual platforms
- Proficiency debugging embedded software systems. Familiarity with UARTs, JTAG, and oscilloscopes
- Some mainstream OS application level development and Python or Perl scripting experience
Description
• Design interfaces and call flows for DSP processing• Lead others toward DSP feature delivery and support• Implement key 3GPP digital signal processing algorithms with very tight time, latency and energy budgets by interfacing to niche cellular ASIC hardware. Examples of 3GPP algorithmic areas include:Channel EstimationChannel State FeedbackInterference CancellationCell Search and MeasurementBeam MeasurementWork with systems engineers to refine signal processing algorithms for efficient firmware/hardware execution Work with silicon designers to define HW interfaces, processors, bus, DMA, accelerator, and memory subsystemsSpecify, design, and implement the firmware architecture of an innovative mobile wireless communications systemAssist in the development of pre-silicon emulation systems/virtual platforms and use them for pre-silicon FW design and HW verificationEvaluate and implement powerful tools for build, formal verification and testDefine methodologies and standard processes

Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $161,700.00 and $284,900.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
