Responsibilities Include:
The PMIC functional safety engineer is responsible for developing the safety concept and strategies/measures to mitigate risks for identified potential faults.
This includes working on the high-level safety goal for PMIC and translating it into a Technical Safety Concept.
Review system safety architecture and its interfaces to investigate faults.
Lead the FTA, DFA and FMEDA analysis for the PMIC.
Work with design/system engineers to develop and document module level functional safety requirements.
Lead the DFMEA analysis of failure modes at the IP & integration level.
Generate safety requirements at various levels of hierarchy and review verification plans.
Engage with suppliers (3rd party IP) and review safety work products to conduct detailed functional safety analysis.
Work with cross-functional teams within Qualcomm to achieve the desired safety integrity levels.
Review, approve and provide guidance for design and firmware verification plans.
Guide development/verification teams to reach the safety objectives at various project milestones.
Lead Anomaly reports on safety critical engineering change requests.
Requirements:
B.E. or higher degree in Electronics or Systems Engineering.
Strong background in PMIC hardware and software functions and their validation is desirable.
Experience with Systems architecture and control systems is preferred.
Collaborative team player with strong communication skills. Ability to explain safety concepts to other engineers.
Knowledge and experience with ISO 26262/IEC61508 are preferred.
Experience using requirements management tools such as Jama.
Training skills to ramp up engineers with the ISO26262 processes.
Self-starter and work with limited supervision.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
