Key Qualifications
- 1-2 expertise subsets of the following fields are required: optics, physics, electrical engineering, optical components (lens, film, thin film coating etc), image processing, machine learning, computer science.
- Deep understanding of one or more of the following display technologies, i.e. TFT, LED, OLED, optical fundamentals, display system, etc.
- Proficiency of using statistic tools (JMP etc) and programming languages (MATLAB, Mathematica etc) and optical simulators (LightTools etc) to tackle practical engineering problems
- Strong analytical & critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience in high volume mass production consumer electronics, display related system strongly preferred.
- Experience in working closely with cross-functional teams, as well as with overseas suppliers, is preferred.
- Concise & effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English.
- Able to travel overseas.
Description
- Define overall optical and module architecture and requirements, and drive rigorous validation plan to meet display performance target- Drive issue failure analysis and corrective actions, communicate with broader team on pros, cons and risks associated with any proposed solution, drive implementation of the solutions- Investigate new display technologies, perform detail tradeoff studies, and generate new approaches to further enhance display performance
Education & Experience
Bachelors or above in optics, physics, EE, or related fields with minimum of 3 years of experience.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900.00 and $256,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
