Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF/ISIS), and technologies.
Experience in troubleshooting network issues and utilizing network monitoring tools.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a Tier-1 support role, preferably in a network operations center (NOC) environment.
Experience with routing (e.g. BGP, IS-IS) and traffic engineering solutions (e.g. RSVP-TE, Segment Routing) in backbone networks.
Experience working with on-site technicians and coordinating maintenance activities.
CCNP/JNCIP certifications.
Knowledge in python or any other software language.
Responsibilities
Triage and Resolution: Act as the first point of contact for identifying, triaging, and resolving low to medium-risk severity incidents within defined service level agreements (SLAs). Utilize troubleshooting techniques and established procedures to quickly diagnose and address issues, ensuring minimal impact on operations. You will also be involved in triage difficult routing issues and responsible for restoring networking services quickly.
Collaborative Problem-Solving: Collaborate with Tier-2 support teams to escalate and resolve issues as needed. Work with external partners such as ISPs or our customers for maintenance needs and troubleshooting activities.
Maintenance Coordination: Coordinate with on-site technicians to execute fiber maintenance activities safely and efficiently. Follow standard SOPs/MOPs during maintenances to minimize downtime and ensure the integrity of the network infrastructure.
Hardware Replacement: Assist in the replacement of network hardware, including routers, line cards and other components. Follow established procedures and protocols to safely and accurately replace hardware, minimizing disruptions to network services.
Monitoring: Active engagement in continual monitoring of network systems to swiftly detect and effectively resolve any alerts or anomalies arising, ensuring uninterrupted network functionality and operational efficiency.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, resolutions, and maintenance activities.
