Global Physical Security Systems Engineer
Job Type:Full-Time on-site [Wednesday - Sunday]
Applied Materials is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Engineer with advanced expertise in C•CURE 9000 systems at Tier 3/4 administrative support levels, including Enterprise-level certification and strong database administration (DBA) capabilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise-level C.CURE access control systems and their underlying databases. The role calls for utilizing security and technical acumen for ensuring global physical security systems, especially C.CURE access control system and other integrated security systems, are effectively managed for software and hardware life cycle, configured properly as per global standards, and provide a high level of availability and reliability for the end users including employees and global security operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as one of the key subject matter experts (SME) for C•CURE 9000 access control systems, including Tier 3/4 administrative functions.
Collaborate with existing C.CURE support team in improving the system performance, conducting regular software upgrades, developing and maintaining a scalable and resilient architecture, and ensuring systems life cycle is maintained as per manufacturer standards and recommendations
Manage and maintain C•CURE Enterprise environments, including multi-site configurations, failover systems, and high-availability setups.
Perform advanced system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for hardware/software issues.
Administer and optimize SQL Server databases supporting C•CURE systems, including backups, performance tuning, and data integrity checks.
Ability to run various reports from the C.CURE system related to hardware inventory, badge transactions, alarms, cardholder database, and various system logs that are necessary for conducting analysis and investigations
Develop and maintain system documentation, SOPs, and configuration baselines.
Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and physical security teams to ensure system compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.
Lead system upgrades, patch management, and integration with third-party systems (e.g., video surveillance, visitor management systems, identity management, LDAP, AD, etc.).
Provide Tier 3/4 advanced technical support to field technicians.
Participate in audits, risk assessments, and incident response activities related to physical security infrastructure.
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in physical security systems engineering, with a focus on C•CURE 9000 systems design, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and data base management
Proven experience with Tier 3/4 level administration of C•CURE systems.
C•CURE Enterprise Certification (required).
Strong experience in SQL Server database administration, including scripting, performance tuning, and backup strategies. (DBA certification is a plus)
Familiarity with Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and network protocols.
Experience with integrated security systems (e.g., video management, biometric readers, visitor management, etc.).
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s, or Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or proven experience in related field.
Certifications such as C.CURE Enterprise, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, CompTIA Security+, or equivalant.
Experience with Software House, Lenel, Genetec, or Avigilon systems is a plus.
Knowledge of enterprise systems design and deployment in physical security environments.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Work would be mainly office based. May require site walks and occasional travel to remote sites.
Ability to lift and install physical security hardware (up to 50 lbs).
On-call availability for critical system support.
