Senior Systems Engineer jobs

This role focuses on hands-on design work, prototyping, and cross-functional collaboration to improve the end-to-end live seller journey. You will be challenged to balance creativity and usability, using advanced design and prototyping tools, while also building strong partnerships with key stakeholders across disciplines.

What You'll Accomplish

• Contribute to product design and UX for eBay Live seller experiences, focusing on onboarding, event setup, inventory, and post-sale workflows.

• Apply advanced mastery of Figma and prototyping tools to create, iterate, and hand off interactive design assets and user flows.

• Help develop and refine design concepts based on research and feedback from sellers, in close partnership with content and research peers.

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, research, content) to support the delivery of high-quality solutions that drive seller value.

• Participate in user testing, workshops, and field research to validate design decisions and gather insights.

• Present design rationale and solutions to peers and occasionally to senior stakeholders using clear storytelling and narrative techniques.

• Maintain organized and well-documented design files to ensure alignment and smooth handoff within the team.

• Stay curious about trends in live commerce, streaming platforms, and video-first experiences; actively share relevant ideas and inspiration.

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of professional product design experience, ideally in ecommerce, live commerce, marketplace, or related seller-facing environments.

• Advance mastery of Figma and prototyping tools, with a portfolio that demonstrates impactful contributions to product design and user experience.

• Strong storytelling skills in presenting design thinking, rationale, and user journeys to team members and stakeholders.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with content and research peers, integrating insights and narratives into design solutions.

• Experience working with cross-functional partners to deliver end-to-end design solutions.

• Proficiency in workshop participation, user-centered research, and testing to inform design iterations.

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

What you will accomplish:

• Architect the development of Selling features in the Android application with Native Android app development and converting ideas, designs and requirements to concrete stable production builds

• Coordinate and collaborate with the Product and Engineering team to identify problems, come up with creative solutions, and help with tracking and delivering within the release plan

• Understand and implement Android specific design patterns and experience with Android Studio, Java, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Dagger, network debugging (e.g. Charles), revision control systems (e.g. Git) and bug tracking (e.g. Jira)

• Develop and iterate within a rather lean, yet very fast-paced Engineering team, develop code and testing methodologies to improve the DevOps "Four Key Metrics"

What you will bring:

• Prefer B.S Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or equivalence with 7+ years of experience developing Android applications, with deep experience in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Hilt/Dagger, & GraphQL

• Proven experience in unit testing and functional UI testing with JUnit / Espresso, well versed in SOLID principles and with Android Studio

• Experience with modern design patterns such as MVVM, Dependency Injection, etc.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, working with services teams to develop optimal mobile services contracts

• Any additional experience working on large scale applications encompassing dozens of features, patterns for achieving feature modularity, reactive programming using RxJava / RxKotlin and Jetpack Compose are preferred.

Are you excited to:

• Develop and maintain sanctions systems, understanding their operations and alignment with the sanctions risk appetite.

• Drive sanctions screening re-calibration.

• Define and drive sanctions screening requirements in collaboration with the product management team.

• Assist the business in identifying and understanding Sanctions risk exposures.

• Analyze business data to identify trends and assess potential Sanctions risks.

• Review escalations from ongoing screening processes for Sanctions nexus.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of compliance experience in fin-tech, start-ups, technology, or emerging financial services, 5+ Sanctions program experience.

• Material experience with sanctions screening tool requirements, testing, calibration, and documentation.

• Knowledge and experience with OFAC and non-US Sanctions laws, regulations, and compliance requirements (including reporting and record retention).

• Strong organizational skills with project management experience.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and time-critical environment.

• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
