Inventory associates are an integral part of tech companies, responsible for the management and maintenance of stock items, ensuring that customer orders are fulfilled, and providing support to other departments. As an inventory associate, you’ll be in charge of tracking stock items and ordering new supplies. This involves rotating, counting, verifying and creating item availability reports. You’ll also be responsible for organizing shipments, stocking items, creating invoices and showing customer orders. Ultimately, you’ll be a part of providing customer satisfaction by keeping stock in line and up-to-date.
In addition to this, your job duties may also include helping to train new employees, give customer service support, and rotate stock for on-site shows. You’ll also manage damaged items, checking and testing products, preparing reports, and providing stock tracking updates.
For this role, it’s essential that you have a sharp eye for detail, a thorough knowledge of inventory systems, and excellent organizational skills. You’ll need to be reliable and have the ability to multi-task and manage a variety of tasks effectively. A solid background with retail, stockrooms, and customer service is a plus.
