Financial Solutions Advisor within the centralized segment of the Advisor Development Program,your journey begins by obtaining your Securities Industry licenses, where you receive dedicated and personalized classes for your Securities Industry Essentials [SIE], Series 7 and Series 66 Exams. Once you obtain your licenses, you will be taught the foundational skills needed to be an advisor – from acquiring, building and managing client relationships to considering a client’s complex financial picture and guiding them with advice and solutions to help them live their best financial lives, all while humanizing financial interactions. You will then join the centralized team as a Financial Solutions Advisor.

The Financial Solutions Advisors in the centralized segment are phone-based licensed advisors (obtaining series 7 and 66 required) that provide clients with holistic financial advice and guidance by identifying broader product and service solutions that meet their investment, savings and liability management solutions. FSA’s demonstrate knowledge of investments and financial markets and apply key principles appropriate to the individual client's investment needs. Additionally, they align Merrill and Bank of America products and services where appropriate. We will equip you with everything you need, as you move through the stages of development and move into the Merrill Financial Advisor role.

During this stage of your journey, you will receive the necessary training and guidance through a defined path to become the financial advisor you want to be. You will have the opportunity to work with both affluent and high net worth clients, identifying needs, developing relationships, reviewing investment goals, and preparing investment recommendations that align with the goals of both existing and prospective clients. Once you have honed your skills and demonstrated success as an FSA, you typically will progress into the next stage of training and development as a Merrill Financial Solutions Advisor (MFSA). 1. Assist Financial Advisors in servicing clients including preparing financial plans, conducting investment research and completing client trades and transactions.

2. Receive and place orders as directed from Financial Advisor and assigned clients. Reply to queries regarding general market information such as quotes and news, as well as trading and order features such as GTC expiration dates and settlement.

3. Process corporate actions where a license is warranted, such as tender offers, optional dividends and the exercise of warrants and rights.

4. Schedule and confirm client appointments, enter data in SalesForce, create meeting agendas and summaries, prepare/coordinate marking events and perform general administrative functions such as answer and return calls, manage the expense report process, prepare routine client correspondence and perform maintenance of client records.

5. Manage the financial advisor's calendar to maximize the appointments' productivity by minimizing travel time and anticipating the time frame required for presentation and answering of questions.

6. Maximize sales opportunities by contacting potential investment clients based on internal and bank leads. Use product and industry knowledge to identify existing client, account, and product attributes that present sales potential.

7. Provide operational guidance to Financial Advisors ranging from systems navigation to document fulfillment.

8. Ensure new business paperwork is accurately successfully submitted. This includes preparing forms to be presented to clients, obtaining appropriate signatures, submission and follow-up of new account documentation.

9. Mitigate risk through appropriate authentication standards. This includes the authentication of incoming and outgoing client calls. Required to perform authentication callbacks for high risk transactions, such as third party distributions, profile changes and wires.

10. Maintain a professional environment and create a positive impression.

11. Submit and process certain operational requests as instructed by the Financial Advisor and/or client. These may include: funds distributions, deposits of checks, journals, client and account updates, ACAT initiation and other operational tasks.

12. Work in coordination with the Financial Advisor to ensure certain reports are reviewed and addressed, such as insufficient funds for periodic distributions and RMDs not met.

13. May assist with physical branch location needs, such as opening, closing, general requests for maintenance or service.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have 2 years of experience in IT positions performing/utilizing the following:
    • Analyzing, designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting moderately complex application solutions that meet defined Capital Markets Securities business requirements and meet the enterprise and Capital Markets specific performance and Securities Industry architectural standards.
    • Working on Capital Markets initiatives in an Agile Delivery Methodology with a focus on IT Delivery.
    • Applying Capital Markets domain expertise, with specific knowledge of:
      • At least two of the following product domains: Foreign Exchange, IR Derivatives, Commodity Derivatives, and/or Equity Derivatives; and
      • At least two of the following value chains: Collateral management, Sales/Trading/Research, Settlements, Financial Management/Product Accounting, Risk, and/or Credit.
    • Utilizing experience with: Calypso, Java , Spring, Message Queue, J2EE /Jboss, WebServices, Javascript, SQL Server, Oracle, and Github
  • Position may be eligible to work hybrid/remotely but is based out of and reports to Truist offices in Charlotte, NC. Must be available to travel to Charlotte, NC regularly for meetings and reviews with manager and project teams within 24-hours’ notice.

This job is responsible for engaging clients in the lobby to educate and assist with conducting transactions through self-service resources, such as mobile banking, online banking, or ATM. Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in financial services and knowledge of financial services industry, products and solutions
  • One year of demonstrated successful sales experience in a salary plus incentive environment with individual sales goals
  • Six months of cash handling experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or business-relevant Associate’s Degree such as business management, business administration or finance​
