  • Adheres to established processes, laws, and guidelines in performing day-to-day activities, such as opening accounts, account maintenance, and Digital Assisted Shopping
  • Manages client interactions by taking the best course of action for the bank and its clients and abiding by all regulatory requirements

Your impact

As a Building Mechanical Engineer at Jacobs, you’ll be at the cutting edge of our efforts to bring innovation and excellence to some of the most exciting infrastructure projects in the region. You’ll use your exceptional design and analytical skills to lead the planning and design of mechanical (plumbing, HVAC, odor control, and fire protection) systems primarily for municipal facilities for water and wastewater projects, but you’ll also contribute to federal, industrial, and institutional projects.

You’ll prepare design drawings and specifications for submission to clients, as well as provide jurisdictional plan checks and permitting support. Engineered systems you’ll be working with include plumbing systems, HVAC package systems, central plants, air distribution, hydronic systems, odor control systems, and associated controls.

You’ll also have the opportunity to:

• Design complete plumbing systems, including utility and potable water distribution systems, drainage systems, and miscellaneous systems such as compressed air and natural gas.

• Design complete HVAC systems, including package type and central plants.

• Design odor control systems, including vapor and liquid phase treatment technologies.

• Design fire protection systems using a performance system approach.

• Prepare calculations for plumbing systems, including water and drainage flows, water heater sizing, and pump sizing and selection.

• Perform calculations for design, such as air loads, pipe/duct/equipment sizing, ventilation requirements, static pressure, odor removal, life-cycle costs, and energy analyses.

• Select equipment, coordinate with equipment vendors, and edit specifications.

• Conduct field evaluations and develop as-built drawings.

• Develop master plans and perform field investigations.

• Conduct technology alternatives analyses using multi-criteria analysis tools for selecting odor control systems.

• Manage and coordinate work with architects, technicians, and engineers of other disciplines.

• Attend meetings and communicate with clients, vendors, and other project stakeholders to establish project needs and discuss design issues.

• Manage quality and schedule of work and interface with clients.

• Support field staff during construction phase of projects, including responding to submittal reviews and requests for information.

• Provide design guidance and mentorship to designers/drafters and less experienced engineers.

Our transportation projects include the design of new bridges, bridge widenings, rehabilitations, load ratings, and other transportation structures. Working with our talented Bridge Team, you’ll work to solve problems and challenges in a team environment where everyone is valued. As a self-motivated professional, you will work on bridge projects of various sizes and complexity under the guidance of experienced engineers and project managers.

In this role you will:

• Support the development of projects from conceptual design through preliminary, intermediate, and final design phases and through construction

• Assist in the development of specifications, cost estimates, and preparation of final bid packages

• Develop sketches and markups for calculation packages and to provide to CADD Technicians

• Work with CADD Technicians to develop bridge details and plan sets

• Compile Bridge Type Selection Reports

• Coordinate bridge layouts, details, and constraints with other disciplines including Roadway, Drainage, and Survey

• Support bridge/structural tasks under on-call contracts

• Identify creative and innovative bridge engineering solutions based on client, project, and site constraints

• Perform calculations, assemble calculation packages, and provide bridge load ratings

• Coordinate with a team to meet project milestones

• Perform construction site visits
