Description:
This position requires onsite client-facing work 5 days a week in Columbus, Ohio.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in a Detection Engineering or related role.
  • 6 years of experience with detection tuning and creation leveraging various security tools (e.g., SIEM, EDR, or NDR tools).
  • Active US Government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information security clearance.

Preferred qualifications:
  • GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), CompTIA PenTest+, CompTIA Cloud+, or equivalent qualifications listed in DoD 8140.3's Cyber Defense Analyst role.
  • Experience with SPL, KQL, YARA-L, Kusto or similar SIEM query languages, with an understanding of SIEM log flow, aggregation, and forwarding.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with client stakeholders and other groups within the customer environment to drive resolution for security issues.
  • Completed relevant military cyber training, such as the Joint Cyber Analysis Course (JCAC), Intermediate Cyber Core (CTN), or Navy Interactive ON-NET Operator.

Job responsibilities

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.
  • Coach and Mentor junior resources in the team.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical 10+ years of experience in programing languages and coding in Java.
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s) .
  • Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
  • Practical experience with JavaScript technologies, UI Frameworks such as ReactJS.
  • Experience and strong knowledge in with Java, RESTful APIs, and Microservices architectures.
  • Experience in Spring, Spring Integration, Spring Cloud Gateway, Eureka Hibernate, Spring Scheduler, Quartz Feign or similar ORM framework.
  • Practical cloud native experience.
  • Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Independent and self-motivated.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies.
  • Additional Skills: Unix scripting, Maven, CI/CD knowledge, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Hands-On experience with Cloud technologies Docker, Kubernetes, AWS.
  • Monitoring and Logging: Experience with Monitoring and Observability tools like Splunk, Dynatrace and Datadog.
