• Experience in econometric modeling and statistical analyses, using standard statistical software such as Stata and R.

• Master's degree in Economics or a related field (Statistics, Data Science, Business, Finance, or Public Policy).
• 1 year of experience in regulatory or litigation proceedings at an economic consulting firm, competition agency, or technology company.
• 1 year of experience in antitrust.

Job Responsibilities:

• Build a team of economists and analysts to monitor and present the latest trends in key consumer and business health metrics.
• Manage the editorial and media agenda for Consumer and Business Intelligence authoring internal and external reports on segments of heightened interest
• Define key segments for long-term analytical monitoring (such as revenue or industry segments) and near-term deep dives (such as businesses or sectors disproportionately impacted by inflation)
• Develop an analytical agenda, in partnership with other teams, analytics groups in other lines of business, and the JPMorganChase Institute
• Contribute analytical views and talking points in support of investor relations and external affairs
• Coordinate research, engagement and impact efforts as it relates to segments in the health of consumer and small businesses across the Chase organization
• Engage with community institutions, such as policy think tanks and local governments

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

• Advanced degree in Economics or related field required; 15+ years of business analytics / economist experience, including as an executive-level economist
• Exceptional executive presence with the ability to quickly translate and communicate microeconomic and macroeconomic trends in consumer and business data for individual business owners
• Prior experience in business economics, market economics, consumer finance, analytics or related field as well as people management
• Robust knowledge of econometric modeling of fundamental economic relationships using alternative data sets, including business and consumer finance data
• Subject matter expertise in business financial health frameworks and segmentation methodologies
• Excellent writing and communication skills and ability to effectively translate complex data into actionable insights and strategies for varied audiences, including executive audiences and across multiple stakeholder groups

Job Responsibilities:

• Support the creation of monthly business unit reviews by coordinating across lines of business and functional groups.
• Assist with the Annual Financial Plan and Monthly Forecasting process, owning the end-to-end modeling.
• Support revenue and growth goals through product development strategy, client engagement, and pricing analysis.
• Generate regular reporting on revenue, expense, sales, and professional services activities.
• Collaborate across finance and business to ensure accurate forecasts and financial control.
• Engage in creating senior management presentations and providing effective reporting to executives.

As a Junior Economist, Senior Associate in the Consumer & Business Intelligence (CBI) Team, you’ll assist other economists in creating the analytical views and storytelling for Small Businesses and/or Consumer-related sectors through the lens of our internal data. CBI is a new organization that monitors, coordinates, and develops a holistic internal & external view of the financial well-being of consumers and small businesses. As a member of a new team, your adaptability, flexibility, comfort with ambiguity, and creative problem-solving skills will be key to your success. You will report to the Senior Economist with the following responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyze key business segments (such as specific industries or luxury spenders) and near-term deep dives (such as a spotlight on individuals disproportionately impacted by inflation)
• Contribute to an analytical agenda, in partnership with broader team and analytics groups in other lines of business
• Create automated analytical artifacts that monitor the health of key segments to the business
• Contribute analytical views and talking points in support of investor relations and external affairs
• Support research efforts related to the health of consumers and businesses across the JPMC organization
• Contribute to the editorial calendar for Consumer and Business Intelligence

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; could include prior experience in consumer/business finance, economics, analytics, or other related field
• Minimum 1 year of experience in economic research and/or economic analysis outside of an academic setting
• Advanced analytical mindset; you love digging into the data and defining what it tells you
• Excellent writing and communication skills; ability to effectively translate complex data into actionable insights and strategies for varied audiences; Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with all levels of employees, including executive audiences and across multiple stakeholder groups
• Ability to quickly translate and communicate microeconomic and macroeconomic trends in consumer & business data
• Foundational understanding of market economics & econometric modeling of fundamental economic relationships
• Appreciation for and experience looking at data related to business finance, travel, dining, shopping, autos, and/or homes
• Exceptional problem solving skills and ability to adjust to evolving business and financial climate
