This role reports directly to a Managing Director who is the Co-Head of Tax Planning in Corporate Tax.

Job responsibilities:

  • Lead acquisitions, dispositions, joint venture opportunities and structured investments for JPMorgan Chase’s own account from a tax perspective. This includes overseeing the entire deal life cycle of the transaction, from structuring through negotiation to post-closing integration.
  • Collaborate on Internal Legal Entity Restructurings: Design, implement and advise on internal restructuring transactions, both domestic and cross-border.
  • Collaborate with the team working on Investment Tax Credits: Partner with business units on investments that give rise to tax credits, such as low-income housing and green energy tax credits.
  • Lead working on Tax Opportunities and Issues: Provide guidance and advice to other business stakeholders (including real estate, auto finance & credit cards) on tax considerations, including related to current and potential tax legislation and regulations

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Juris Doctorate (or non-U.S. equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant tax experience at a top tier law firm with a strong tax practice (exceptional candidates with financial services industry experience at Big 4 accounting firms may also be considered)
  • Extensive technical expertise and experience with Subchapter C and Subchapter K, as applied to both domestic and cross-border transactions

We will equip you with everything you need as you move through the stages of development

Once you have demonstrated success as a licensed Financial Solutions Advisor Stage I, you will typically progress into the next role, Financial Solutions Advisor Stage II, where you will continue to practice the skills you’ve learned by growing and deepening relationships within a portfolio of clients. As a successful Financial Solutions Advisor Stage II, you will have the opportunity to advance in many roles within Bank of America and Merrill. Required Qualifications

• Has at least one year experience in the investments industry, including investment training and in-depth knowledge of investment products and services.
