  • Support manufacturing by creating production schedules that reconcile production capacity with demand for fabricated components, following the factory’s master schedule
  • Perform analysis that supports defining the roadmap for production capacity increases/change
  • Work with manufacturing & support teams to establish & improve processes (e.g. production batch sizes, material transfer processes & controls) for just-in-time or line-side Kanban delivery
  • Respond to unanticipated changes—e.g. production shortfall vs. schedule or material shortages: provide information, impact assessment, and options to downstream shops, revise production shifts and or mix as needed
  • Generate and publish production performance metrics and forecasts showing risk to supply of fabricated components vs. demand
  • Communicating plans, plan revisions, and production vs. plan to all Manufacturing, support, and business stakeholders
  • Represent production in the sales and operational planning process for Tesla Production
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering/Operations Research, Supply Chain Management or another quantitative field preferred or relevant years of experience
  • Demonstrated high volume production planning experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with 2 + years’ experience structuring and building analytical models
  • Ability to spot process improvement opportunities and influence others to make change
  • Good organizational and project management skills. (role requires juggling long-term projects, daily tasks, and urgent questions)
  • Ability to solve problems in fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to recognize opportunities for improvement in operations and reporting/information visibility
  • MS Excel experience required (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.). More advanced Excel modeling skills a plus

What to Expect

As a Production Supervisor, you will be playing a critical role on the Gigafactory Production team. You will lead a dynamic team of Associates and Leads while managing operations and driving metrics in critical areas of the Manufacturing floor. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with our manufacturing and operations teams, interfacing with Engineering, NPI, and Material Flow, to ensure production goals are being met.

What You’ll Do
  • Build a strong, motivated production team capable of consistently delivering high quality products against aggressive production targets

  • Empower the production team to collaborate with engineering to improve product manufacturability and line productivity

  • Develop training programs and hiring plans for assembly team members

  • Support issue resolution including root cause investigation & corrective action tracking

  • Ensure quality standards are being met throughout the entire production process and support no defects from leaving a station or team area

  • Develop & maintain Standardized Manufacturing Instructions used in production assembly by the assembly team members

  • Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams’ safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations

What You’ll Bring
  • 3+ years of experience managing teams of people in a high volume manufacturing setting preferred

  • Experience in selecting and developing new team members

  • Ability to work with and develop production performance metrics (efficiency, quality, safety, throughput, costs)

  • Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines

  • Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills; able to interface with executives and leaders on a daily basis and strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail

  • Fluent with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

As a Production Associate, you will be trained on how to help build Tesla’s vehicles and energy products. If you have a strong work ethic, are reliable and value teamwork in a fast-paced and safety-focused environment we want to hear from you. No prior manufacturing experience is required.

Shift:6:00AM-6:00PM or 6:00PM-6:00AM; Saturday and Sunday

What You’ll Do
  • Punctuality and a professional, can-do attitude are a must
  • Perform complex assembly work that require the use of state of art manufacturing tools, precision measuring equipment, and machinery
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions for specialized equipment
  • Escalate technical problems to the appropriate support groups and leaders
  • Follow safety guidelines, procedures and maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Evaluate the assembly processes and equipment to look for continuous improvement opportunities
  • Complete other duties as assigned/support cross-functional teams
What You’ll Bring
  • Demonstrate ability to learn new skills and adapt to new work environments

  • Comfortable learning new technology
  • Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Computer skills are strongly preferred (use of Word, Excel and Outlook programs)
  • Open to schedule flexibility that will allow for a variety of shifts including weekends

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
  • Ability to perform repetitious duties, including stairs and standing for long periods of time and over varied and uneven terrain
  • Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 50 lbs and climb a 10” step and back down
  • Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift, reach, stoop, lay, bend, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time
  • Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, or hearing
  • Potential exposure to confined spaces and hazardous materials
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines

As a Production Control Supervisor, you will be playing a critical role in the success of production. You will work in both the warehouse/production floor and will be asked to work cross-functionally, interfacing with engineering, planning, and production to ensure production goals are being met. We are seeking candidates for both day and nighttime shifts. As we continue to increase our production volume there will be a need to demonstrate flexibility and work different schedules in order to reach quarterly and annual production goals.
What You’ll Do
  • Provide supervision of day-to-day operations including receiving, stocking, shipping and all transactions related to activities inbound/outbound items
  • Ensure efficiency and accuracy of stocking and organization of parts inventory as well as finished goods inventory
  • Work closely with the parts & service buyers, logistics and quality teams, as well as with internal and external customers
  • Maintain an organized/clean 5S facility with an emphasis on safety and ensuring efficiency and on time delivery of goods
  • Mentor and supervise associates creating/maintaining a positive productive environment
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree preferred or relevant experience
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution center environment
  • Flexibility to change assigned work shift, as our facility continues to ramp the needs of production will change and this may result in a change to work schedule to ensure the business demands are met
  • Robust experience in creating metrics for performance management
  • Excel, Confluence, and Jira knowledge
  • Able to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various teams including service and supply chain personnel

  • Lead and assist Engineers in resolving unplanned down events and driving permanent RCAs, using the 3D/8D process where applicable
  • Make daily resource allocation decisions, balancing competing priorities, to serve the needs of the engineering, maintenance, and production communities
  • Serve as backup Engineer for all members of the team both to ensure zero gaps in coverage as well as adequately address issues of escalating complexity
  • Collaborate with development manufacturing engineering and controls teams to install and debug new processes and equipment
  • Availability for off-hours and weekend calls and support
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 3 + years’ experience leading technical teams within heavily automated, high volume manufacturing facilities, including but not limited to assembly, robotics, etc.
  • Exemplary track record of high impact contributions both as an individual Engineer and in a management capacity
  • Hands on experience with lean manufacturing principles
  • Demonstrated ability to meet commitments and deliver results in a fast-paced technical manufacturing environment
  • Ability to manage and execute multiple large-scale projects simultaneously, dynamically adjusting priorities to meet changing business needs
  • Outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Experience with application and teaching of structured problem-solving methodology, such as DOE, root cause analysis, etc.
  • Experience with mechanical, automation, and controls engineering is highly preferred
  • Understanding of equipment component behavior is a plus

  • Support the development of site-specific Logistics/Supply chain strategies, qualifying the benefits of each to drive the optimal modality and inventory balance
  • Lead and assist Engineers in PFEP standardization and adoption of processes through the entire value stream of material flow
  • Develop simulation models for all processes including Receiving, Warehousing, Staging, and Conveyance deliveries to the Production Line in order to achieve throughput goals
  • Own, report on and drive improvements in material flow processes from the network of external warehouses to manufacturing facilities optimizing for space, cost, and service levels
  • Develop business cases for improvement projects such as material handling – touch reduction, automation support etc., with a focus on workforce planning and management
  • Develop and maintain KPI`s (Key Performance Indicators) in a regular basis to report progresses to the Top Management
