As the Manager of Strategic Planning, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the long-term direction of our Customer Success organization. You will be responsible for independently driving the development of a strategic point-of-view on critical business topics, as well as guiding the design of strategic initiatives. Your ability to develop a strong perspective on “big bets” for our business via the synthesis of data-driven insights and internal & external research and your individual business judgement, as well as your ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders, will be key to your success in this role. You will work in a dynamic and cross-functional environment, focusing on a strategic planning period of 2-5 years into the future.Key Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis and Interpretation:Conduct analysis of large and complex datasets to extract meaningful insights for CSG. Interpret data trends, patterns, and anomalies to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Data Analysis: Perform detailed data analysis and develop complex data models to derive actionable insights and support decision-making processes.

  • Dashboard Development and Maintenance: Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau.

  • Data Cleaning and Preprocessing:Clean and preprocess raw data to ensure its quality, completeness, and usability for analytical purposes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data preprocessing pipelines.

  • Feature Engineering:Identify and create relevant data features to enhance model performance and accuracy. Work closely with domain experts to extract valuable insights and incorporate to improve data processes.

  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports for executive leadership and stakeholders, effectively communicating trends, patterns, and predictions through clear and insightful visualizations and narratives.

  • Collaborative Problem Solving:Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions. Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and business teams to integrate data science solutions into existing systems.Build relationships, frame up key business decisions and influence stakeholders in order to achieve leadership buy-in and drive effective change management.

  • Shape and Manage Strategic Initiatives:


While this role is an individual contributor (IC) role, you will be expected to exert influence and collaborate with various teams to drive the successful definition and planning of strategic initiatives. You will work closely with the following teams and individuals:

  • Data & Analytics Resources:Partner with data and analytics team members to interpret data analyses and identify data-driven insights to ultimately drive strategic planning and inform executive decision-making.

  • Internal Cross-Functional Experts:Work across various teams and individuals to uncover business context, gather insights, align stakeholders and understand high-level operational requirements around POVs & initiatives. This internal network will be key to transforming a big bet from a theoretical POV into the rhythm of the business.

  • Project/Program Management:Collaborate with project and program managers to ensure the effective planning, design and delivery of strategic initiatives.

  • ExternalConsultants/Research:Work with external consultants responsible for developing strategic recommendations and/or research firms identifying benchmarks and industry best practices. Translate their findings into actionable plans.


Role Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Economics, Finance, Math/Statistics or a related field. PhD preferred.

  • Experience:A minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in roles requiring data, business analytics, financial due diligence, strategic planning and business acumen. Background as an engagement manager in Big 4, management consulting or strategy highly preferred.

  • Technical expertise: regarding data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques.

  • Proficiency with databases (SQL, etc.).

  • Strong knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, Python/R etc.)

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).

  • Self-Driver:Proven ability to synthesize multiple sources of information into compelling strategic point of view. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving and occasionally ambiguous environment.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:Strong interpersonal and communication skills, collaborating effectively with senior stakeholders, communicating complex topics using simple language and building organizational consensus.

  • Analytical Skills:Familiarity with data and analytics concepts, able to work with data professionals to translate data-driven insights into actionable recommendations.

    • Collaborate with customer success, product, engineering, and sales teams to define KPIs and analytical approaches that answer key business questions

    • Design, build, and deploy machine learning and AI models (classification, regression, NLP, recommendation engines, etc.) to identify at-risk customers, predict attrition, and assess impact of product offerings

    • Develop customized recommendation engines that suggest next-best actions for customers (collaborative filtering, content-based, hybrid, graph-based techniques, etc.)

    • Drive the end-to-end machine learning lifecycle, from data preprocessing and feature engineering to model training, testing, and automated retraining workflows

    • Architect high-performance data pipeline for massive, multi-source datasets (streaming, batch, semi-structured), ensuring optimal storage, fast query performance, and high data integrity in hybrid cloud environments

    • Monitor production model performance by tracking key metrics like accuracy, drift, and latency. Leverage A/B testing and establish feedback loops to drive continuous improvement and rapid iteration

    • Support translation of strategic direction into analytical problems and actionable data science initiatives, ensuring data science alignment with organizational goals and long-term vision

    • Present clear, actionable insights and technical roadmaps to technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels

    Collaborative Partners:

    • Customer Success Leadership: define priority use cases and success metrics for AI-driven initiatives

    • Product & Engineering: embed data-science solutions into product features and roadmaps

    • Data Platform & MLOps: utilize internal infrastructure for data access, orchestration, and scalable deployments

    • Business Operations & Finance: validate model assumptions, quantify ROI, and support strategic planning

    Role Requirements:

    • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in quantitative field such asData Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline

    • Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on experience building and deploying machine-learning solutions—especially recommender systems—in a SaaS or customer-facing environment

    • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Python (or R) and ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch); expertise with data tools (SQL, Spark, Airflow) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
