In this position...
This pivotal, highly visible role sits within our Global Manufacturing Engineering Architecture and Program Delivery department and helps shape future model programs to be leaders in the industry. The Architecture Team acts on early insights with the Product Development Team to optimize all aspects of new model production. As part of this team, you will interact directly with leadership to deliver the following as it relates to the three major Manufacturing functions of Body Construction Engineering, Global Paint Engineering, and Final Assembly Engineering for a major area of a vehicle i.e. Upperbody or Underbody. Upperbody consists of but is not limited to exterior and interior trim systems, bodysides, cab, box, front end, etc. Underbody includes but is not held solely to powertrain, chassis/frame, floor pans, etc.

GME (Global Manufacturing Engineer) is a cross-functional team having the primary responsibility to plan for and implement the launch of new vehicle programs at assembly plants, powertrain & battery cell plants, and assemblies at component plants. In this role, the Casting Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor will provide leadership for powertrain and structural castings from the initial concept and development through product launch. Your team will work with Product Development and Suppliers, to successfully develop and launch next-generation structural high pressure die castings. Successful candidates will have a proven record of leadership and product launch experience with the development and implementation of complex castings.
This team will be focused on both the cast and trim tooling necessary for high pressure die casting. This includes the development of tooling standards, development of both casting and trim tooling designs, and the equipment and processes to maintain and repair both cast and trim dies. In this role, you will also have the responsibility to lead and develop a team. This process is a new to Ford manufacturing process and must combine both technical and leadership capabilities to drive success. Ideal candidates must navigate and drive change in a complex internal environment, challenging the status quo as we define an all-new way of manufacturing vehicles.
