Key Responsibilities:

• Lead projects to design and develop automation systems to enhance manufacturing productivity, new product introduction and capacity.
• Own the controls architecture and software for PLC, Robotics, and Vision Systems.
• Lead Design Transfer of NPIs by collaborating with manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, and product engineering teams.
• Identify high Return on Investment opportunities, design and conduct feasibility studies, and develop business cases to deploy automation into production.
• Apply creative solutions and ideas to drive productivity and quality using LEAN methodology, novel fixturing, collaborative robots, AI, traditional automation techniques, and integration of PLCs, HMIs, and motion systems.
• Support Brilliant Factory initiatives by connecting physical processes with digital information.
• Create standard automation Equipment/User Requirement Specifications to drive component standardization, data standards, and safety risk assessments.
• Manage projects and lead project teams in a matrix organization.
• Leverage and manage outside suppliers to deliver automation solutions.
• Troubleshoot factory equipment controls, update/debug control software and support factory equipment as needed.

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical degree.
• 3+ years’ experience in factory automation, deploying various automation technologies from concept phase through final implementation into production.
• Demonstrated skills in PLC and HMI programming, trouble shooting and debug
• Experience in program or project management skills of internal/external integrators.
• Experience developing technical documents, including the ability to write/perform FMEA’s, Equipment Risk Assessments, ERS’s (Equipment Requirements Specifications), and Validation Plans.
• Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CREO.

Desirable:

• 5+ years’ experience in the design, build, programming, and deployment of automation.
• Experience with Fanuc Robot Programming and Python code development.
• Experience with controls automation design and safety standards; NFPA 79, RIA15.06, and other relevant industry standards.
• Substantial industrial experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
• Six-sigma DMAIC & DFSS certified.

• Establish & execute the overall Product Quality strategy for a set of MR Coils products or components with IB Engineering and other key stakeholders

• Escalate emerging issues to Leadership as the product focal point and identify related actions

• Act as SME on product specifications and documentation

• Track and trend field data for critical coils and parts

• Utilize hardware autopsy and remote data to identify issues, root cause problems and communicate improvement opportunities

• Lead projects to ensure compliance, reduce cost, improve quality, and increase reliability, Drive Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) actions across product, from field & factory; including scrap, rework, warranty, First Pass Yield, Early Life Failures

• Collaborate with Sourcing and Supplier Quality Engineering organization to help drive solutions for supply chain risks and quality improvements

• Collaborate with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing organizations to help resolve scrap, yield, and fulfillment issues

• Collaborate with Service organization to help improve wash rate and reduce cost to serve

• Apply Lean methodologies to solve problems, improve daily work, and simplify processes.

• Lead cross functional resources & manage timely implementation of projects

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Related Science Field (Physics, etc) from an accredited college/university.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience (MR Coil Design, RF Electronics or Product Quality).

Roles and Responsibilities

• Fosters a Quality culture by leading quality and compliance activities for innovative, leading-edge MR Coil technologies within the areas of design and development, design transfer, manufacturing, and service.
• Ensures adherence to GE HealthCare QMS and regulatory requirements (e.g. 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, MDSAP) while driving process effectiveness and efficiency. Ensures plans, protocols, results, and conclusions are generated, reviewed, and approved according to applicable procedures.
• Represents GE HealthCare to external regulatory agencies and drives audit readiness.
• Performs internal audits to ensure quality standards and regulatory requirements are addressed.
• Ensures quality of CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) projects, including robust root cause investigations, and nonconformance evaluations.
• Support successful product launch of design and manufacturing transfers.
• Apply Lean methodologies to solve problems, improve daily work, and simplify processes.
• Support analysis and execution to achieve Quality objectives and priorities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of relevant work experience)
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering or Design Controls in a regulated industry, Medical Device experience preferred
• Demonstrated understanding of Medical Device Quality Management System requirements and regulatory requirements including but not limited to FDA CFR 21 820 and ISO 13485.

• Understanding of engineering product development processes
