Description:
The Marcom Packaging Research & Development Senior Print Expert leads or support projects to develop print processes or solutions to improve current print technology, post-print graphic treatment, print quality, and print sustainability for packaging components. The Marcom Packaging Research & Development Senior Print Expert leads or support projects to develop print processes or solutions to improve current print technology, post-print graphic treatment, print quality, and print sustainability for packaging components. Responsibilities include:Engage deeply with internal partner teams in design, materials, engineering, manufacturing, and procurement, as well as our external packaging supply chain, to implement and execute projects to develop the next generation of package printing technologies for Apple.Support troubleshooting of technical issues during print development projects across all product lines, as needed. Available for both domestic and international travel (at least 15 percent of time).
  • 10+ years of experience leading technical projects in the field of consumer packaging, sustainable packaging materials, fine art graphic printing, and/or application equipment.
  • Deep understanding of printing processes, especially with fiber-based substrates, and the ability to solve print-related issues with various inks, coating, adhesives, print decoration (cold foil) and finishing technologies.
  • Experience with packaging manufacturing and quality systems, and the experience applying new raw materials to final print applications.
  • Knowledge of statistical and data analysis tools, interpretation results, and presentations to inform data-driven decision making.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle ambiguity with grace. You are able to gain alignment and guide decision making with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Inventive and enthusiastic problem solver, at ease with being part of a growing organization. You dream of working in a creative environment, learn quickly, and accommodate rapid change.
  • Deep industry networker with connections to printing and finishing suppliers. Current with packaging industry Innovations with a drive to advance the state of the art.

  • Proficiency in Mac applications; database management systems; Adobe Illustrator, and Acrobat; and the Microsoft Office suite.

Description:
The Packaging Design Producer, Lead role is design-led and will focus on delivering best in class work for specific product launches. In this role, you will partner closely with the Design Packaging designers to determine the creative expression for Apple’s product packaging. This includes but is not limited to photography, copy and graphics on product packaging, and product identities/logos. This role requires a thorough understanding of the design/creative process and the ability to form strong partnerships and build relationships with key decision makers along the project lifecycle.
Understand the legal, regulatory, environmental, and manufacturing constraints related to each category of products and partner with your designer to implement as needed.Forecasting creative resource needs and actively managing project resources in planning tools; working closely with your Manager to make recommendations for project-level staffing based on project needs and creatives’ bandwidth.Problem-solving obstacles that create inefficiencies and making recommendations for new ways of working. Being humble, kind, hard-working and able to bring levity in situations is important for success in this role.
  • 12+ years of account management, design/creative producer or creative project management experience.
  • Familiarity of the print production process.
  • Experience leading end-to-end creative production for complex and high-impact projects
  • Experience creative producing or overseeing Packaging design projects —working through the full design journey from project inception through to design lock/file delivery.
  • Well-versed in leading the creative development process with strong creative project management skills.
  • You care deeply about packaging, the customer experience, details and design. You appreciate quality, can communicate clearly and calmly, and have patience for the process—both as it relates to details and design.
  • You have experience navigating ambiguity and proactively solving for cross-functional challenges before they arise.
