What You’ll Do
  • Develop and execute automated and manual tests to validate thermal system performance across various operating conditions
  • Work closely with control and firmware engineers to validate and improve thermal control algorithms for all energy products
  • Perform system validation of current and next generation Tesla Energy products
  • Analyze fleet and test data to identify issues and recommend improvements
  • Validate thermal system simulation results with experimental data
  • Prepare technical reports and test summaries for stakeholders
  • Work cross-functionally with controls, firmware, mechanical design, and reliability organizations
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience with thermal system integration
  • Excellent understanding of Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer, and thermal components (pumps, compressors, expansion valves, fans, etc.)
  • Experience in working with hardware and/or test-benches to evaluate thermal system performance, as well as firmware integration
  • Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills, able to identify and surface issues within complex HW/SW systems
  • Proficiency with Python (read/write) and C (read)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally, work hands-on, and execute on open-ended projects in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment
  • Preferred: Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, CAN tools (PCAN, CANape, CANalyzer), and data acquisition (DAQ) systems

What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Mechatronic, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Prior applicable experience desired; preferably in a Quality, Failure Analysis or Service in consumer electronics or automotive
  • The successful candidate for this position must have a broad technical background with the ability to work with engineering, manufacturing, service, and suppliers across a wide variety of issues
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are an absolute requirement to establish effective working relationships within Tesla and outside
  • Ability to use tools and business system applications to manage, synthesize, and interpret data
  • Programming Languages & Tools: SQL, Python, Minitab, JMP or similar are a strong plus

  • Data integrity: Take full ownership to ensure business transactional data integrity across all Tesla systems/applications. Generate weekly metrics and monitor the state of contracts, orders, and Megapack delivery
  • Customer Support: Problem-solve and address all requests from Customers, Sales, Logistics, Service, Finance, and other departments with minimal management guidance or supervision. Address issues with a strong sense of urgency
  • Process Improvement: Actively identify and submit business process improvement ideas, support the implementation of such process/system improvement
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor's in Business, Analytics, Engineering, Operations Management, and/or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability
  • 3+ years of hands-on work in contract, analytics and operations, or equivalent experience in complex order management, delivery and planning

The right candidate will understand firmware and software system development, have experience with manufacturing, and leading cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional product performance. You will have the opportunity to shape the process and interaction between the firmware engineering process and manufacturing line operation for efficiency and high quality. You will use your engineering background to understand the product requirements, technical risks and the validation strategy to accelerate the development process. You will communicate and present projects’ status, highlight schedule risk, and develop recovery plans in the event a slip.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage cross-functional factory-facing projects from end-to-end, covering a range of areas including firmware trials, testing rebalancing, pre-flashing, and coordination with hardware & firmware development teams. Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to effectively coordinate firmware trials, validation, & integration to the factory on a regular basis
  • Facilitate & manage partnerships with key groups such as Manufacturing Engineering, Production, NPI, Engineering, System Integration & Test, and Firmware/Software development, and other partner engineering teams
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) on factory firmware releases to ensure proper validation procedures are followed
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate the best processes roll-out, Trial Report & Document observations, analysis, and results, make recommendations as needed and drive solutions. Record all issues found during trials and help drive to closure
  • Manage Trial Recovery: Ensure manufacturing lines are validated and/or restored to prior condition post-trial(s). Evaluate the success of each trial (yield, downtime, cost, safety, etc.)
  • Track all trial details in PCA tracking system for approvals
  • Inspire, lead, and organize internal improvement initiatives to existing software, firmware, test engineering
  • Evolve our release processes to support high precision and dependability. Maintain the agility of the Tesla method
  • Lead your projects with strength and confidence through rapid development cycles, changing requirements, and uncertainty
  • Communicate clearly, regularly, and effectively with leadership, stakeholders, and internal team members in both written and verbal forms
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in an Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years' technical program/project management experience managing consumer-facing software programs and/or embedded systems (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years’ working as an engineer, ideally on software or firmware teams, as a developer or tester
  • Experience managing end-to-end product deployment — from concept through development and successful launch
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills with ability to work in a highly cross-functional environment
  • Excellent organization and delegation skills with ability to own the product roadmap and schedule with a track record of delivering projects on-time
  • Ability to work with limited resources, independently, tight deadlines, and with urgency

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and execute testing protocols to achieve commercial operation, based on market rules, local AHJ/utility requirements, and contractual milestones
  • Drive continuous improvement by capturing and sharing issues, review and revise equipment specifications and/or scopes of work to resolve future gaps/issues and improve the customer experience
  • Ensure safe and seamless handoffs to plant operations teams by developing training/handover packages
  • Ownership of administrative responsibilities including, service reports, issue logging/tracking, job safety analysis, and quality compliance
  • This is a diverse role where knowledge of basic design rules, constructability, permitting, utility requirements, and engineering fundamentals is expected. What You’ll Bring
  • Relevant experience as an Electrical Commissioning Technician or Field Engineer
  • 5+ years of professional experience in commissioning or performance testing for large-scale PV, storage, or other energy systems
  • Ability to travel up to 30-40% of the time, occasionally on short notice
  • Knowledge and experience testing Transformers, and Balance of Plant equipment
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to execute many projects and tasks in parallel, self-directed, highly detail-oriented, organized, and flexible
  • Demonstrated experience in customer-focused problem solving
  • Knowledge and experience with SCADA protocols (i.e., DNP3, GOOSE and Modbus) is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, SEL RTAC, Relays and meters, SCADA gateways, managed Ethernet switches, media converters (fiber and serial), and digital input/output devices is preferred
