As a, you’ll inspect moderately complex plant and pipeline facilities construction work performed by contractors to verify contractual compliance with plans, specifications, codes, regulations, and safety standards; and prepare a variety of reports and documentation.

Responsibilities include:

• Review construction documents including plans and specifications; inspect moderately complex and complex plant and collection facilities construction work performed by the Owner’s contractors; ensure contractual compliance with plans, specifications, codes and safety requirements; verify that materials being incorporated into project are per specification and with approved construction practices; coordinate equipment isolations, including LOTO for equipment and process tie-ins.
• Assist safety representatives with job hazard analysis; observe contractors work safety environment and compliance with traffic control plans and devices; work with contractor to establish and maintain a safe construction project for employees, customers, and the public; document and follow-up on actions regarding safety, traffic control plans, and working practices.
• Assist in the maintenance of accurate as-built contract drawings; verify contractor as-built drawings are maintained and correct; assist Construction Managers and Resident Engineers on field change orders, plan clarifications, and plan changes; review and approve final drawings to construction Project Manager for the preparation of record drawings.
• Prepare and maintain necessary construction inspection records and reports as a means of formal documentation including daily inspection reports, photo-logs, field test results, guide account reports, extra work requests, project submittal files, and team member project logs; assist Construction Managers and Resident Engineers in preparing monthly progress reports
• Attend construction meetings; work with contractors, regulatory agencies, utilities, city officials and the general public throughout construction project to coordinate work to be accomplished and ensure satisfactory project completion with minimum impact on the public or District facilities.

We are looking for a Senior Construction Civil Inspector at our Irvine, CA location to perform inspection of work such as grading HMA and PCC paving, traffic control, striping and signs, utility relocations, bridges, retaining walls, overhead sign structures, etc. To ensure success in this role, you will apply your knowledge of engineering fundamentals and safety regulations to ensure the project is being constructed in full compliance with contract documents. You will have the ability to work independently and perform duties in the construction field office. To effectively make decisions concerning work in progress and solving field and office problems. The Senior Construction Civil Inspector will work under the direction of a Senior Resident Engineer, and will assume the following functional responsibilities: - Perform quality validation/verification inspections to achieve compliance with contract plans and specifications on the civil work. - Perform quantity calculations and measurement for progress pay estimates and keep daily project records. - Perform labor compliance interviews. Assist with preparation, analysis and review of contract change orders. - Assist with the review of Critical Path Method (CPM) Schedule analysis. - Assist with Water Pollution Control Program (SWPPP) enforcement. - Promote and maintain a safe working environment. - Ability to communicate with the RE, Project Manager, Principal Assistant Resident Engineer, field personnel, public outreach personnel, and the construction administration staff. Essential Functions:

• Assist in developing the project budget and construction schedule before and during project construction.
• Reviews construction status with the Project Superintendent.
• Meet with architect and engineering team to review plans, clarify construction details, and recommend solutions to obtain a quality project.
• Assembling a list of subcontractors, pre-qualifying the subcontractors for experience and financial stability and to schedule maintenance.
• Ensures that status reports are prepared, payment requests processed, and the overall construction timeline maintained.
• Ensures as-built plans, Operations and Maintenance Manuals and all contract requirements are complete.
• Ensures construction progress is on schedule, construction costs are within budgets, subcontractors are performing within the solicitation requirements, and interim life safety measures and hospital regulations and requirements are incorporated into the work.
• Knowledge is especially valuable during construction as site conditions arise, providing solutions that save time and construction expense.
• Meet regularly with contractors’ project superintendent and assist in the oversite of project construction and ensuring that schedules are maintained.

The Terminal 5 (T5) Building Construction Manager based out of Los Angeles, California, reports to the T5 Lead Construction Manager and is responsible for managing and coordinating construction activities of the Design/Builder. The T5 Building Construction Manager acts as the liaison for pre-construction and construction activities, including leading the safety, security and quality for the Program. The Terminal 5 Program covers the full demolition and rebuild of the Terminal 5 headhouse and concourse, as well as various enabling scopes to vacate the existing building.

The T5 Building Construction Manager is responsible for managing the scope, cost, schedule and operational interfaces of all design and construction related activities for the program. The T5 Building Construction Manager will be focused on schedule certainty, budget delivery and making sure that construction work meets the required quality standards while enforcing a strong health, safety, and environmental culture on the project. The T5 Building Construction Manager will support the development and implementation of design, construction, testing, commissioning, turnover plans, impacts to the operations, ensuring that risk mitigation for construction activities are optimized, working and coordinating with stakeholders and ensuring LAWA standards are adhered to.
