As a Facilities I&C Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing instrumentation, equipment, and control systems. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliable operation of control systems and instrumentation, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of the facility.

What You’ll Do
  • Commission new instrumentation, control systems, and equipment to tesla operational standards
  • Calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation, equipment, and control systems, ensuring optimal functionality within the facility
  • Collaborate with the Facilities Operations/Maintenance department to perform preventive maintenance, address trouble calls, and handle emergency maintenance as needed
  • Troubleshoot, program, and improve control systems, including PLCs, controllers, and final control elements to support automated processes
  • Assist in troubleshooting, upgrading, and installing new control systems, ensuring seamless integration and operation
  • Measure and monitor levels, pressures, temperatures, flow, and analytical processes, ensuring accuracy and reliability of data
  • Use complex electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring systems operate correctly and efficiently
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience commissioning industrial processes, including but not limited to: Steam, HVAC, chilled water, fire / toxic services

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of industrial facilities equipment. This role involves hands-on work across a wide range of systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical. You will be expected to perform both preventative and emergency corrective maintenance, diagnose and repair complex systems, and ensure the overall safety and reliability of the facility’s infrastructure. What You’ll Do
  • Maintain, operate, diagnose, and repair critical industrial facilities equipment, such as boilers, pumps, chillers, HVAC systems, roof top units (RTUs), large and small rollup doors, air compressors and dryers, cryogenic and chemical systems, ensuring continuous and efficient operation of infrastructure equipment

  • Perform thorough preventative and corrective maintenance on various facilities systems to minimize and avoid equipment downtime

  • Install, repair, and upgrade infrastructure equipment, including ductwork, piping, and electrical wiring, ensuring all installations meet safety and operational standards

  • Conduct regular inspections of mechanical and electrical systems to identify potential issues. Perform necessary repairs to prevent system failures

  • Monitor and oversee work performed by self-perform construction and subcontractors, ensuring their work aligns with facility standards and safety protocols

  • Support continuous improvement of facility operations by proactively identifying opportunities for enhancing safety, system performance, quality and reliability

  • Display positive attitude and practice strong work ethics that reflects the mission, philosophy and goals of Tesla

What You’ll Bring
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in facilities operations and maintenance within an industrial or commercial setting

  • Associate’s Degree in Engineering or Technology is a plus. Vocational/Trade Certification and/or relevant military experience are preferred
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite specifically Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams, piping, and instrumentation diagrams

  • Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance of optical spectrometry equipment (Spectro). ICal & type standard calibration
  • Control of the liquid aluminum system in melting facilities, rapid response in cases of emergency furnace emptying
  • All furnaces are maintained with liquid aluminum regardless of whether there is production (24/7)
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Mechanical or related Engineering, or with equivalent experience
  • Hands on experiences in material or metallurgical is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in areas of aluminum Melting and its alloys
  • Outstanding root causing and problem-solving skills
  • Experience creating & maintaining a positive atmosphere in a collaborative work team
  • Defect analysis and providing solutions to these metallurgical defects in casting

What to Expect
As a Tesla Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of a wide array of manufacturing equipment. You will apply your technical skills to install, maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems, factory automation and robotics. You will work with the highest caliber process and equipment engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and minimize or eliminate downtime. Tesla's Equipment Maintenance is also the first-responding problem solvers who manage machine breakdown recoveries to keep production running. This is a physically demanding job working in tight spaces, requiring walking and standing all day, as well as, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing ladders and lying on the ground intermittently throughout the day. In addition, the technician may wear a fall protection harness while working from heights or from a suspended position. Maintenance Technicians will lift up to 50 lbs. and utilize other hand tools and power tools as needed.
What You’ll Do
  • Day to day coverage of production line equipment: respond to alarms, breakdowns, and Production requests quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime
  • Diagnoses equipment failures, finds root cause and communicates actions taken to the rest of the team
  • Become Journeyman Level on all machines in assigned area and be responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting/repair, cleanliness and escalation of assigned equipment
  • Uses manufacturing systems effectively (MES, Spares Inventory, Issue Tracking)
  • Work with Process and Equipment engineering and other cross functional groups to resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability, review procedures, and minimize equipment downtime
  • Recommends countermeasures to prevent repetitive breakdowns Organizes and maintains a high degree of cleanliness in the maintenance area as well as performing spares inventory audits to ensure accuracy
  • Follows all aspects of Maintenance Safety protocol (LOTO, 5-S, Arc Flash, etc.), to ensure that the maintenance team operates safely at all times, always leading by example
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Technology is preferred 3+ years of experience maintaining industrial equipment and automation or technical military experience in lieu of Degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong Allen Bradley PLC experience highly desired Fanuc and or Kuka robot experience a plus
  • Areas of specialization may include one or more of the following: electrical/electronics, mechanical/machining or automation/PLC/robotics
  • Ability to manage workload while contributing to a positive, team oriented work environment
  • Skilled at troubleshooting automation, conveyance and electromechanical systems
  • Able to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
